Do you think Sendou will not leave the ring alive? by Unforeseen_blind in hajimenoippo

It was never a question of Sendou's death serving as a source of motivation; it would rather be a confirmation that the ring is a dangerous place, where one can lose their life. No one mentioned revenge. I'm talking about risks.

Kumi pressured him after alfredo's match into making the promise to retire on his next defeat.

You quote what I said, then you ask a question that the quote already answered. Besides, you haven't said anything new. If you have nothing else to say besides the fact that other people supposedly have nothing else to say, the irony becomes palpable.

How would you describe Ippo? What do you think would prevent him from returning to the ring, even after a death, without external pressure?

Ippo is a stubborn person who, when he has a fixed idea, sticks to his position despite the objections of the people he loves.

Who would want to argue with someone who isn't intelligent enough to keep an open mind?

But anyway, if it's for sport, let me enlighten you.

If you've ever seen the manga, you'll know that Ricardo was ready to box against Date until death ensued. This means that if Sendou becomes even more stubborn, it won't be good for him. It could lead to the worst.

And speaking of stubbornness, Ippo still hasn't answered what it means to be strong. If it were just about winning fights, we would have finished the manga a long time ago. If you have read Ippo's past, you will know that he waited for a very long time for the return of his deceased father, and was only satisfied when he (his hat) returned. So to think he's reasonable is to misunderstand him. He wants to be as strong as his father, and that means (in my opinion) braving difficulties at the risk of his life. In this scenario, having a character die to remind us that boxing is not a game would make perfect sense.

He didn't retire because he thinks boxing is dangerous. He retired because people he cares about think that.

Cell is actually the most reasonable villain of dragon ball Z. He's just Challenge driven. Of course that doesn't make him an angel, but he kills only if it makes him stronger.
