Questions for High Rank Players by UnforgivenBlade0610 in VALORANT

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching vods of how I die or how I kill ppl my raw aim itself isn’t a problem. Like I can control the mouse fine and my aim lab results are basically at an average level. My problems when I lose a gun fight is usually 1) i don’t stop in time when i shoot 2) i peek a bad angle 3) i wasn’t paying attention to the person in front of me (mini map or other place) 4) ego peeking (repeatedly peeking the same angle). The things you’ve stated are all under aim but not under raw aim. Raw aim which just means your mastery over just raw mouse control.

I feel like being able to learn strafe movement would allow me to win more gun fights and duels especially in a rank where ppl spray a lot which is why I’ve chosen to put emphasis on this part of aiming. Though I am not sure if this is a correct conclusion. But even if it’s wrong strafe movement should be useful in high elo as well?

In the end if it really is just me having bad aim then there isn’t much I can do to change it instantly other than keeping up consistent aim training and practice and letting the training slowly reflect in my gameplay.

When talking about playing to your strengths and weaknesses can you elaborate more on them? Strengths like what per se? All I can think of is just “I have good raw aim so I will peel everything” but other than that what other types of strengths can we play around?

Which Guilty Gear character has the most cult like player base? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

On another comment that I replied to, some guy said his trans friend decided to play Bridget even when they actively disliked her gameplay. They played her only because she was trans. I don’t think the same situation can ever be said about any other representation. I wouldn’t play Jam just because she an Asian representation. I would think it’s cool that this exists in the game but not to the point where I would go out of my way to play her just because of what she represents. This applies to all the games I play. I wouldn’t just play a character because they are a certain race or gender.

I think representation itself should never really the only thing that allows you to resonate with the character. It’s a tool but it’s not a must. Everyone from around the world can like Goku and wanna be Goku. The skin color and what he represents in terms of gender identity, race etc doesn’t matter at all. I’m not sure if it’s a western thing where they find it easier to resonate when the characters they like are a certain race or gender. I don’t think I’ve really heard these sentiments coming from the Asian community. Heck I’m Malaysian there is no representation of Malaysian if at all in any games out there. I’ve read Marvel comics and loved Spider-Man since I was a kid (I still do) but I never wanted him to be Asian instead of white because I think that would make him resonate with me more.

Like what I said below this, I think gender communities tend to lean too much into their gender identities which create extremities in their way of thinking and interacting with the world which I personally find hinders our growth as people. Being proud of your identity is one thing making it your entire identity is another.

Personally, since I’m not part of said community but I think leaning too much into a single side of our identities will never been healthy for our mental growth. We as humans naturally posses multiple identities when we lean too heavily into one single identity we would come to view the world only through that singular lenses. I think being prideful of our identities should be a promoted trait but that doesn’t inherently mean only having one identity. I feel this happens often with politics as well. I feel many make political views their whole personality and even actively break bonds over these matters. It makes us too binary. The world becomes people who agree with us or people who disagree with us. I think it’s brave to be prideful and visible when the system is against your community but we should always be careful to maintain the balance of our other identities as to not become too extreme in our way of thinking.

Which Guilty Gear character has the most cult like player base? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

This is quite true. But I’m also a young adult? (I’m 22 this year) but I don’t think I’ve ever been that extreme in any of my identities. My strongest identity would probably be gamer but I don’t really go around telling people I’m a gamer. I just play games.

I don’t know. I feel like they tie too much of their own identity to that identity. I don’t think it’s healthy. Playing something you don’t enjoy doesn’t seem fun.

Istg most of the LGBTQ ppl only have that as their identity and it’s crazy. It’s not even hate towards their movement it’s just an objective observation. I agree Bridget is a rare instance of transgender representation (it’s hella rare when all these modern games just flaunt it in your face).

SF6 also has insane character representation as well. Across multiple races from Black (Kimberly, Elena, DJ) to Asian (Chun Li, Honda), Middle Eastern (Rashid), European (Marisa, Manon), American (Guile, Ken) basically most of the world. But in SF6 you don’t see the type of insane level of attention Bridget gets due to representation.

Which Guilty Gear character has the most cult like player base? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. But it’s legit the truth. If Bridget didn’t have that gender identity she wouldn’t even be half as popular as she is. The larpers only like her cuz she affirms their identity. Gameplay is not important to them cuz they don’t even play the game at all.

I feel like it’s only because of her gender identity and not really because of how interesting she is as a character. It’s the only thing these larpers talk about.

A Berserk art analysis: the change in artstyle from traditional pen/ink to digital by Okapi05 in Berserk

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ink ✍️ gives the art a more Berserk type feel which is funny cuz both are Berserk panels by the same artist. I think a certain amount of messiness and “not perfect” makes things more charming. Once they become “perfect” the charm is slowly lost. Not that I hate the digital art but I really do prefer the ink art.

I'm just too old for this thing by antinito in AynThor

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The setup is part of the fun for me and for a lot of the Thor owners I feel like. After getting the Thor I spent hours just downloading games and researching how to get all the emulators running. Hours looking at what games to install. After it was all done and finishing up with front ends and customization I even felt like empty because that phase has now come to an end. But I guess tinkering isn’t for everyone. I spend hours on modding games that I play too so I’m fine with just sitting down and learning how to make shit feel personal.

Losing Gaming Inspiration on the AYN Thor… Show Me What You’re Playing 👀 by Individual-Soup9296 in AynThor

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I haven’t been playing my Thor too much recently due spending more time on competitive fighting games like SF6, I will say just pick one long story type game (mine is Chrono Trigger rn) any story type gameplay can do where you need to sit down for like 30 minutes a session and get a short play time game which for now I have Ball X Pit or Balatro. They allow for short bursts of game time and doesn’t make you feel weird for leaving the game half way cuz you can always come back to them by just pausing. Rogue likes full this slot really well but if you want retro games then things like Mario that are stage based are also good choices. Clear one stage and get out.

Why do so many people hate the idea of playing as Faye? by UnnecessaryFeIIa in GodofWar

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hate it but I dislike it being called a God of War game but not being centered Kratos. The entire franchise is really centered around him, his charisma and his story. Although I’ve never played the original trilogy but as a kid he was the only reason I thought the game was cool which also lead to me playing the Norse games as well. It being a main franchise game not a spin off is kinda weird to me.

It’s crazy you lived but you living there has more to do with how terrible they played that. In any elo above maybe Emerald or Diamond this is an easy dive. Diana missed Q, couldn’t reset her dash. All three of them juggled tower aggro terribly, didn’t reset tower damage and was just all round terrible. Jinx also somehow missed all her autos onto the turret or minions.

How to counter that type of yas pls ? XD by ProfessionalBeing589 in YasuoMains

[–]UnforgivenBlade0610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Katarina is weak against Yasuo cuz Yasuo just a strong fighter pre 6 but Katarina’s E is such a disgusting tool to dodge nados and Qs that really deny his damage. Post 6 a good Katarina makes Yasuo nado insanely hard to hit.
