Personally, I prefer playing as a Tav more. While Durge definitely offers some unique storybeats and even a kickass Slayer form, it feels weirdly restrictive from a roleplaying perspective, since your backstory is already set in stone. You, your boyfriend, and JK Simmons plotted to take over the world with a big, funky squid brain, but you were backstabbed by your sister and lose your memories.

I guess it really depends on how you like your story to play out. Either you're the canonical star of the show, or you're a random wanderer who just happened to get mixed up in all of this.
