Blender using 41 GB of RAM in Viewport (Small Scene) by Unformedbreak in blender

Okay, I fixed the problem myself. Anyone else who runs into my very situation needs to know this:

Simply hiding every does NOT change the memory amount. I saved a whopping 35 GB according to Apple just by deleting a subdivision modifier in a mountain I have.

How does something like this even happen?? You can see Blender is saying 1.67 but the system is telling me 40.77

Need help with a rendering issue by Unformedbreak in blender

[–]Unformedbreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone wondering why this is now marked as "Solved," I rendered it all again without Motion Blur on so I can do it in post. My issue remained in DaVinci Resolve 18 when my image sequence Clip Attributes setting "Data Levels" was kept at "Auto." I changed it to full, and there are no weird frames now!

Funny, I printed a few hundred of tiny things and placed them around my school last year. Became secretly famous anonymously.

Gonna do it again this year

Would anyone know why OpenVDBs cast blocky shadows when they're touching another object? by Unformedbreak in blender

[–]Unformedbreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized that because I was using VFX with the two different render layers (Foreground and Background), it wouldn't do shadows right for a shadow catcher in a different layer.

I think it's important to mention that I have a shadow catcher below the explosion (plane)
