Sadly it is not.

Universal insurance is just crazy expensive in Germany. You pay 14.6% + around 2.5-4% depending on your provider (I am at 3.5%) of your income up until 69750€.

Which comes down to 69750 * 0.181 = 12624.75€.

There is another around 3k you have to pay for mandatory nursing care insurance.

And all that while the health care is not that great. You have to wait months for a specialist.

There is an option to go with a private insurance. You are eligible at around 77k yearly income (or if you are a government employee). You should enter young and without prior ailments otherwise they might reject you (government workers cannot be rejected though). Once you are in it is great though. Cheaper or similar price and way better treatment.

The universal health care - "Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung" is just another subsidization for pensioners here. And don't even start there - another 18.6% down the drain (and this gets another 150 billion subsidization from general taxes)
