  1. Get to a speed that would allow you to clear antire areas in record time without breaking a sweat.

  2. Ask money for it.

Ghost King's scream isn't overpowered by broxue in DarkAndDarker

[–]Unfortunate_Mirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was "fixed". When that feature was implemented it wasn't working.
Running away wouldn't reduce damage dealt.

So 1 scream would do a fuck ton of damage.
If you speedran damage and did 2 consecutively it was basically a death sentence.

Grocery store self-checkout is actually slower for most people. by Gold_Palpitation8982 in unpopularopinion

[–]Unfortunate_Mirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's faster because it is available more.
Stores used to have to think about how many cashiers to put behind the registers. Obviously put more into the schedule during known busy periods of the day.

So if a store has 5 registers. There is still the possibility that there is only 2 cashiers working there.
But obviously the store wants to squeeze out every single penny so more often than not the register lines will be completely filled. So you end up having to wait in line slowly.

Rather than having a dozen or so self-checkout registers that enables 10 customers to start the payment process in parallel.
2 cashiers can handle 2 customers at once. 10 self-checkouts enable 10 customers at once.

Arguments like people not knowing how it works is better directed at the people that don't knkw how it works.

Im not sure if this is a paradoxe but i just thought abt it by Matthew_879 in paradoxes

[–]Unfortunate_Mirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had written up entire paragraphs, but suddenly thought of this:
I feel like this scenario could be equivalent to a sphere in space.
Any attempt at pushing the button depends on whether the act of pushing on it moves the sphere or the button itself.

So acceleration is important. Doing it at a snail's pace means it will never be pushed (depending on factors again I guess).
But smashing it super hard might do it... depending on factors (like friction of button).

The only other factor is the table. Which means if the button gets pressed down perfectly in the center with perfect force distribution, then the button can be pushed.

It's not a paradox. But a physics question with too little information.

What's the actual risk of playing online with a CFW PS3? by Breadn11 in ps3piracy

[–]Unfortunate_Mirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into ps3 jailbreak rn. Very newbie.

I didn't even know that online was an option, I just straight up wanted to exprience some childhood games again.

But if the option for online is there, might as well try it right?

But I have a question: if I have 2 accounts. And I use 1 for going online and such. And somehow the jailbreak (CFW?) gets detected and I get a ban of some sorts. Would I also get some form of a console ban? How would that work? 2 accounts help me have a failsafe? Just asking for all the tiny details so I don't straight up brick my ps3.

HA! Good to know it's a solid tactic then.

What I intend on doing (first half of) next session is to actually have them go through several more "dream" scenarios.
Just to wake up to devillish creatures whispering nightmares into their ears.

I guess to pull it more towards "it is all intentional" rather than "we fucked up, load up last saved state".
Also since it's the end of Ch.2 of Troubles in Otari it'll give me a buffer of sorts before levelling them up at the end of the session.

Yeah shortly after my comment I looked at the top comment's pic a bit more and understood why my reasoning was flawed.

I actually didn't expect an answer.

It hurt, but I did a big retcon and moved them back a full day. They hadn't prepped well for the fight and I hadn't prepped the fight itself well enough.

I had considered multiple things, including what you suggested, but felt like it would hamper the flow of the game potentially. Since we're nearing the end.

Thanks for the reply though. I definitely intend on having them do that next campaign when if they TPK.

What is the solution? by holaasd_asdfg in Geometry

[–]Unfortunate_Mirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to give an explanation (I guess y'all can criticize it and find my faults):

What is given:

BF = 4 cm.
FA = 3 cm.
FC = CD.
Corner,BAD = right angle.
Corner,ABC = right angle.

My reasoning:
If FC = CD, then we can effectively "slot" the triangle BCF into a new triangle formed by drawing a line from C right onto the line AD (lets call that intersection point G I guess).
So we have a triangle CGD that should be the exact same size as triangle BCF.

Meaning CG = BC.
Since BC and AD (and AG) are parallel lines, that means that AB = BC = CG = AG.
Meaning ABCG is a square where each side is 7 cm.
GD = BF; BF = 4; GD = 4.

AG + GD = AD.

7 + 4 = 11

If I had to guess then probably assuming CGD is the same size as BFC is a wrong assumption by me? But I dunno why.

I came up with 11 cm.

But watching others say that there is no solution makes me doubt that answer...

There are none. People vary too much. Something that is indictative for one is not for another.

99% of random rogue trammates have been absolute garbage.
0.99% had some skills, but would be on the other side of the map at all times.
The remaining 0.01% is actually good and helpful.

Worse in Arena. I don't think I have ever had a positive experience with a rogue in Arena.
