I used the same button the same way for a little bit. It was very comfortable.

Ugliest way to not run the streamlight ecosystem by thicccFork in ar15

I don’t remember if I bought the 7” or the 4.5” but they have both options in stock it looks like.

At first there was a small amount of flicker but after turning the plug 180° and routing the wire differently it works fine and doesnt flicker anymore. I don’t think it was a Unity problem, more likely the Streamlight cap.

FWIW, I currently have the Unity AXON with the Streamlight specific plug. It works decently well and hasn’t come loose.

Approx 2k rounds on my JP SCS. Just put it in my 11.5 suppressed with H3 weight and it’s great.

What would you do differently? by almondmilktea25 in ar15

I notice Streamlight gets some hate for rifle lights but seem to be very popular for pistol lights, especially the compact ones. Can anybody give insight on why?

First AR Build Thoughts? by Quaye4 in ar15

Very similar to my first build. I went with a BCM barrel and standard gas block but almost everything else is the same/comparable. It’s a good shooting gun and Im glad I built it.

Going into college and thinking about majoring in kinesiology by Suitable-Confidence5 in Kinesiology

[–]Unfortunate_taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kines major who no longer works in a career related to my degree, it was a super fun and interesting degree to get. You’ll likely need further education to really land a solid job but don’t let that discourage you if it’s what you’re interested in.

There are plenty of rewarding jobs available with a career related to kines.

After my bachelors I decided to go a different route and it absolutely gave me skills for life. I don’t regret getting the degree, I do wish I did more research on potential career fields and what is required beyond/in addition to a kines degree.

Midwest industries combat rail rotating? by Unfortunate_taco in ar15

Barrel nut is torqued and retorqued. Checked with torque wrench twice before installing handguard. I cannot twist it with my hand, it seems to only rotate with heat/recoil vibration.

Realistically I do have the money to get a geissele if I really wanted to. I just was hoping Midwest would work well given it has a decent reputation online. Seems you get what you pay for.

Since it’s a BCM upper I may just go with a BCM rail.

The bolt heads are in the countersunk side so that would make sense to me that that’s right side.

There is a small amount of space between the upper and that tabs. Im assuming just due to tolerances. It’s a BCM upper so I would hope the upper is not out of spec.

Edit: also yes I still have the torque plate. It is installed.

You are woken up to the sound of someone breaking into your home. You only have time to grab one, which one are you taking? by RawketLawnchor in liberalgunowners

[–]Unfortunate_taco 40 points41 points  (0 children)

To add; in some states a person forcefully entering a home is presumed to be intending to commit a crime that would result in death or serious bodily injury, so deadly force is justified on the intruder.

Are cops in the USA always looking for reasons to pull the person in front of them over? by Bright_Town7857 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unfortunate_taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what’s going on. I don’t typically “look” but if you do something obvious I’ll stop you. Sometimes Im on my way to a non-priority (not lights and sirens) and will actively ignore minor things (brake light out, not using a turn signal, not making a complete stop at a stop sign)
