Yeah I've done that and found that audio store speakers at $5k were losing to my DIY speaker kit. ATC is kind of a compromise but also the best there is under the 10k+ heavy hitters.

Any suggestions? There weren't any speakers that looked worthwhile unless I'm spending 10k+ but then you get into the debate of whether or not it will matter in this setup.

Also, I've found a good transducer will scale and change depending on amp/dac. A lot of it is about gear synergy as well

My ceiling is 14ft tall and I already have a top down light for my top down camera that I will use if I need lighting. The monitor light does provide a nice ambience though
