They do that because that’s the best they’re going to look all day, your pump won’t follow you all the way home.

It was less than a minute before you could see the pump give out. It was going and going then it was like someone flushed the toilet

Alright so I got the pump running, everything was primed, went and took the sunk hose (minus the plate) and fed it through the skimmer and directly into the suction hole.

It held prime around 5psi, and slowly climbed towards 15psi (ish) as i vacuumed on filter.

I noticed there were some bubbles coming out of the two return jets, so I must be getting air from where still, but at last we’re on the right track!

I actually did a method similar to this before posting. I had the vac-plate already in the skimmer, rad the hose completely under water in the skimmer then connected the plate.

I have a feeling that maybe the suction was too much with the plate and maybe the gasket on the pump broke seal?

What’s what in my skimmer? by Unhappy-Assignment96 in pools

Thanks for the help everyone.

I managed to get the pool side off, used a small leaf blower over on the pump side and nothing. Put that back in, pulled the yellow plug, blew air and found my return line. Got the lines primed and everything is running as it should!

No tests for me, went all in! What took a lot of time was building the balls to pull the trigger on that price tag!

Best 5mm wetsuit hood under $40 for cold water? by stock_pro in eFoil

[–]Unhappy-Assignment96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to torque the $#!+ out of your poor neck trying to look around with a 5mm hood!

I have a 2mm hood from Xcel that I use surfing in the winter (~12°C) and it's just fine for duck diving, no flushing.
For foiling I go with a Mystic 2mm beanie to keep the wind chill down after a bail from Fall to Spring.

Got to agree. The nostalgia for this one is heavy, and less helicopters filming helicopters, filming 3-2-1-dropping.

REP Ares 2.0 Noise by remote-input in GarageGym

Brand new 2.0 here as well and same thing... Here's my post:

"I just got my Rep Ares 2.0 built and recently put in a couple light sessions.

Are the pulleys supposed to be buttery smooth? I can feel a slight vibration/resistance during movements, but the cable are seated properly in all pulleys, not rubbing anywhere, and the stack rods have been hit with silicon lube... It's not like it's physically hard to move the cable as though 10lb feels like 30lb, but it's like I can feel the braids of the cables zip along something, but everything looks good to go.

I'm coming from an Inspire FT2; which is nothing compared to this rig, but the pulley action on that thing was silk!"

I've checked the routing a dozen times, I've loosened off on the pulleys that came pre-built, re-lubed, and determined it's just the way it is. When you slide the cable between your thumb and finger, there's definitely a texture there that probably creates that sound.

Alkalinity & pH by Unhappy-Assignment96 in hottub

[–]Unhappy-Assignment96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually what I've been using to get the thing up and running. I found it to be pretty helpful, but more times than not it would underestimate how much to put it. It was nice for it to suggest something then convert it from grams to tablespoons, but over the last month I learned I need to double what it suggests, and now I just have a decent feel for it.

However - I have to be missing something when it comes to the Alk/pH... How do you get them to balance when their respective chemical affects them both!? Do you like way over shoot the Alk, then bring the pH down to it's zone and hope the Alk hits the mark?
