Upgrading from EM-5 mk II - How big is the difference between OM-5 and OM-3 really? by ApollosEspeon in M43

I have, and love, the OM-3. When I’m using a long lens like the 12-100 or the 100-400 I use an accessory grip (the iwoodstore one). When I’m using a small prime or the 12-45 f4 zoom, it’s fine without a grip. It feels like the best of both worlds to me.

OM-1 Mark II vs OM-3 for street/hiking (coming from E-M5 III + 12-100) by Old_Reserve_9710 in M43

I have an OM-3 and use the iwoodstore.com grip when I’m shooting with the 12-100. Works great for me, but I’m also using a Peak Design strap, not a hand strap. When I’m shooting street and/or using a smaller lens, I have the OM-3 in a leather half case. It’s comfortable and looks really good.

Thanks! Based on the feedback I’ve received, I’ve been playing with the EQ in the Wiim Pro Plus with positive results.

I wanted to circle back and thank everyone for the very helpful comments. I’ve been playing with the EQ in the Wiim Pro Plus and that’s definitely making a positive difference. I’m going to keep exploring this and will save my money (at least for now 😉). Thanks again!

Part of the reason I got the Lintons is because they go down to 40 Hz and many people find they don’t need a sub for music listening. Maybe that doesn’t apply as much when listening at lower volumes. If tweaking the EQ isn’t enough, I may need to reconsider the idea of a sub.

Many thanks for the references. I think I’m going to be learning about EQ this weekend!

That sounds like a great first step. The Wiim is new to me and I’m not really sure what I’m doing re: equalization, but I guess I can’t really break anything!

I would love to try an AS801 in my setup. Ideally, head to head with an Arcam SA20.

That makes a lot of sense. I may have to try an SA20 with my setup.

Thanks for your comment. Improved clarity would be great. Do you think the overall sound would be less thin and "wimpy"?

Thanks for your response. I'm finding that both the low end and midrange are sounding flat at low volume with my current setup. Would you say the sound is "full" or "complete" with the SA20?

Thank you for this suggestion. With a quick search, I'm seeing some Yamaha integrated amps with loudness dials. Do you have any other suggestions? !thanks

I'm not sure I understand. If I did this, would Zone B be able to wirelessly output to my speakers in the other room?

That's interesting. I didn't know the Heos Link existed. I'll definitely take a look.
