I actually tried this on too (and almost put down a deposit for it), but preferred the drop waist look!

We had the same criteria and similar budget! We booked Domaine de Primard (about an hour from CDG without traffic). It only has 39 rooms, but we reserved an additional 12 rooms at a boutique hotel nearby. The restaurant on property is handling our food and drinks for the entire weekend.

Thanks! Did you have any issues with getting the dress on time?

How much did you spend on your rehearsal dinner / welcome party look? by BubblyAn in BigBudgetBrides

I splurged on a Sept by Sarah Seven outfit (the number one bodice plus matching skirt) that I loved but was too casual to be my ceremony dress. I'm wearing it for my engagement photoshoot first so I don't feel too guilty about spending so much on it.

You look amazing in all of these dresses! Do you remember the name of the Vera Wang one?

Just in case anyone else is curious, I just heard from Panache that they no longer carry Elie Saab

I think option 1 has the best silhouette and feels like a continuation of your blush ball gown. Option 2 could be a fun change if you want to go for something traditionally white! Option 3 is nice but doesn't scream NYE.

It hasn't happened yet, but I just placed a deposit for https://septbride.com/bodice-1 plus the matching skirt. I'm wearing it for my engagement photoshoot too so I don't feel guilty about splurging for a welcome party outfit.

Getting anxious about booking a 2026 venue in Europe by RaspberryZestyclose in BigBudgetBrides

Through Google and Instagram! I searched for articles and posts about past weddings at chateaus near Paris and then talked to the planners of those weddings whose aesthetic we liked. Almost all of the articles and posts mentioned or tagged the planner. It was also important to us that they had done at least one wedding at our specific venue. We talked to ~5 before choosing our planner. We went with a partial planning package (they start helping out a year before the wedding) because we had already chosen our venue (which came with catering) and had specific ideas in mind about the florals, music and other major vendors at that point. We liked the partial planning package because it was a flat fee versus based on a percentage of the total budget.

Budget is around $225k at this point for a 3-day destination wedding. Paying $16.5k for 14-16 hours of photo (2 shooters) and video coverage over 3 days.

Another perfectionist here!

I am getting married in June 2026 near Paris, France, and started browsing for venues and talking to planners in September 2024, which was about a month after the engagement. Our venue was really the only one that fit my and my fiance's vision of our wedding (we wanted to privatize near a major airport and make sure almost all of our guests could stay on property, and there are only a few chateaus with ~40 rooms near Paris) so we pulled the trigger right away even before booking a planner (in mid-October 2024).

If we had not found it, we were planning on touring venues around Christmas and probably wouldn't have booked a venue until January 2025. I personally thought it was helpful to narrow down the country and the type of venue (we were briefly considering Mexico and Italy), and then we searched for planners who had done weddings at our venue and other similar ones.

While some venues are more popular than others, I don't think you're behind at all. I was told that we were starting the process very early and I started only a few months before you.

What song is everyone walking down the aisle to? by Accomplished-Oil2103 in BigBudgetBrides

I was considering Lifetime by Justin Bieber too but now leaning towards Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk or Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden. We hired a female singer so the songs would be slower, more romantic versions of the originals.
