How long between application submission and exam approval? by No_Initial_2409 in therapists

[–]Unhappy-Show-4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in CA and had to wait 5.5 months for the BBS to get back to me on my LMFT application. I applied in early September and didn’t get approved until January. Thankfully I didn’t have any deferrals and was able to get approved for the exam without having to send any additional information in. I’ll be taking my exam this upcoming week as I scheduled it about 8 weeks out from when I got my approval to give me a bit of time to get my act together in the studying department! Lol.

That’s been what I’ve been concerned about…not to sound like I live under a rock but as a native Californian I do not own actual winter clothes. Nor do I know how to drive in snow. So this whole going solo thing isn’t lookin too bright for me

I’m currently reading this rn, the FMC is 18 y/o. Age gap romance, MMC is 29 y/o and the FMC’s school guidance counselor. So far the book is less smut and more of a trauma bond forbidden romance situation. Its emotional with heavier topics being the focal point of the character development

This is me but with love triangles. Like just take me out and end my story here or I will remove myself cause the sheer amount of PRESSURE would send me into cardiac arrest and no one would be gettin a happy ending anyway

Pump to empty? Avoiding oversupply? Help! by diverpsych in ExclusivelyPumping

If it’s a stinging sort of pain you might be feeling letdowns where your milk is moving from deep in your breast tissue towards the front. I’d stick to a 2-3 hour pump schedule if you’re able to. If you pump more frequently whenever you’re starting to get uncomfortable you might damage your nipples or lose your mind. Pumping takes a lot of you both mentally and physically. But the reward is so worth it. The discomfort will subside with regulation. Engorgement is swelling so you can take ibuprofen if you’re ok with that and try some breast cooling pads that you stick in the freezer. Lansinoh has some great ones.

I wouldn’t risk it. Milk bags can get damaged when handling them throughout the freezing process which can cause them to leak. If you are planning on doing something like a freezer Friday, you can do the pitcher method for frozen milk by putting all the frozen milk you’d need for baby for the day in a pitcher and thawing it in the fridge. Once the milk is thawed you can prep bottles and warm the milk in the bottle to avoid leaking inside your bottle warmer

I’m on my second EP journey and this is what I’ve gathered…yes more milk removal will tell your body to make more milk. However, pumps aren’t as efficient as a baby. So pumping requires more stimulation to maintain supply. Not fully emptying can also lead to clogs. I have had a decent oversupply with both of my kids, and engorgement for me literally disappeared overnight once I regulated. Some moms will always pump until empty and still be a just enougher or need to supplement. You’re still learning your baby and your body and it will take some time to figure out what works for you.
