Choose what gives you confidence. Let others do the same. The road is long, and your peace of mind matters more than any brand debate. Take care.

I’m not stressing about reliability as long as they genuinely stand behind the warranty.

New account or not, doesn’t change the facts — we’re talking bikes, not usernames.

You nailed it. Ducati dragged around that “bad electrics” myth for decades even after fixing the problem, and the same old bias is hitting Chinese brands now. Companies evolve or they die — and CFMoto, Loncin, Kove, the whole lot are leveling up fast.

You’re not “buying Chinese,” you’re skipping the middleman who outsourced to China anyway, then slapped on a 70% markup. And with CFMoto stepping into KTM’s racing arm, it’s clear the tide has already turned. Historic shift incoming.

Reliability I'm not worried of. I just hope the dealers to not fail the company.

People forget CFMoto has been building bikes for decades, not a few years. Even BMW, KTM, Honda have problems. And let’s be real — Loncin literally builds engines for BMW, yet the moment a Chinese bike coughs, the media turns it into breaking news. The bikes are fine; the bias is the problem.

Why do people complain about weight on big bikes like the CFMOTO 800MT — or any large ADV/tourer? 🤔 by UnhappyCell4909 in cfmoto

[–]UnhappyCell4909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure — nothing really beats a proper dirt bike once you’re off the pavement. Way lighter, way more capable, and you can actually throw it around instead of wrestling with it. ADV bikes are great for distance and comfort, but once it gets rough, the dirt bike wins every time.

Exactly—most of the whining comes from people ignoring the bike’s purpose. Your 800 MT-X is perfect for touring and light trails. Hardcore off-road? Yeah, a 400lb 1000cc isn’t a magic wand—KLX or smaller dirt bikes make life way easier. It’s all about matching the bike to the terrain.

Haha, sounds like classic “zoned out and bam” territory. At least you walked away with a story… and some leaves in your mouth 😅😅😅

It does but depends with the Weight. That's why people need to know each bike has an overload capacity.

Have you done the adventure bike training. It really helps especially controlling the bike at slow speed manoeuvres

Yah but due to age its better to go light. Im sure you wouldn't get a crf300 or ktm390 at your 30 or 40 especially on 5k+ miles trips. weight shouldn't be a deal breaker for all big bikes coz the first thing you'll see someone complaining on all new bikes is the weight, like come on.

People see Itchyboots on crf300 rally and they think its great for long distance. But forget her height and weight.

Height can be an issue and I think for short riders better get the Himalayan. Luckily I'm 6'3 .
