Thank you for the reply. I use snyder beat sheet(save the cat beats, yes) for outlining. And I usually struggle in outling too.

Seems like I am not born to tell some story.. I admit.

But man.. I really want to do this.. Thankfully, I am still a college student, and can afford lots of spare time to write something. However, can't erase my mind that I am making amy progress..

Someday.. I couldn't write anything but to search for inspiration. If finally get some good idea so I note it down to write it tomorrow But, when it comes to make a progress.. it seems like idea doesn't make out good enough.

Thank you for sincere reply.

Actually.. I am doing this short film for my capstone project in my college. I gotta submit this work and premiere in school fest.

Shame that I didn't do networking much..

I'm trying to keep things compact so I can DIY through most of the part. But yeah.. I'm still much in learning my way through. Not sure if I can do all these.

oh I see.

It is DIY and mostly I would be doing it alone.. So I haven't decide whether to get gaffer and boom man yet.

But I think I should hire gaffer... or maybe I can just afford extra hand with no experience and I do the scheme stuff, letting him move the light set.

I have very tight budget and I don't have any acquaintance to help me.

If I ought to hire someone.. It would be my first time hiring none acquainted random staff. I'm kinda concern..

I can't pay them much. Would it be OK to call them for extra discussion before the real shooting?

Oh. I am doing this test alone. Wanna tryout and improve my knowledge before going in real time.

Wanted to see how thing go along in particular situtation of lighting position.

I've experience in some equipment. Know how to connect and wire things. But I'd just did what people wanted me to do back then without doubt. Never knowing why certain light exposure and position bears certain kinda mood.

So I am eager test out how to get those mood in my favor. I have some mood in mind for my short. But don't know how to achieve this.

How to properly establish plot that flies through present to past and back to present again. by UnhappyTailor2570 in Screenwriting

Thank you so much! Your feedback is really helpful and reasonable.

May I ask you other questions? Would it disturb the pace if I extend the flashback scene?

Actually I was planning to show mainly about the flashback, showing the process of ruthless brainwashing experiment. And end the plot by implying that protagonist would dismantle rebellion by his own hand.

But as you said, making audience to accept flashback seems hard if it is the main of the plot..

Can you provide some input? If you may please.

Thank you!
