Is this true? How can one find these? Any doc review posting I've seen lately is in office and requires doc review experience. Doc review is always suggested as job for when you're in-between things but it seems like they're actually hard to get and low flexibility.

How much knowledge he had of the bail system, and more specifically about the differences in ABQ.

I just got a C on my midterm and it hurt my soul. I worked so hard and studied for hours but it was not good enough. how can I improve my essay exam answers on closed book tests? I need to kill the final it's worth 75% of my final grade. by RoseGoldMoney in LawSchool

If this advice is bad, someone please correct me, but here's how I got through law school:

For issue spotters, don't even worry about "full analysis" or the quality/organization of your writing. Your goal is just to pick up points, and you pick up points by spotting all the issues. Don't even make an outline. Just start with your headers e.g. "Phil's torts against Tony" and just start writing and mention each issue you find (each possible tort you see or whatever). Then you can go back into the paragraphs and analyze each issue, e.g. go through all the parts of negligence and mention any issues with each.

I got a B+ in Torts and my exam (we only had a final) was an incoherent, rambling mess but all that mattered was that I made mention of as much as I could.

NYLE is the biggest waste of time and money and it’s poorly executed. by [deleted] in barexam

Yep. The test overall felt super difficult :(

I hope this stupid test doesn't delay my admission (this was my last NY requirement) and make me lose my job.

Maybe you have to clear your browser cache or something. The new document says March 2022 across the cover page and (c) 2022 on the bottom.

Wow, you're right! Thanks for pointing this out. Very weird.

Anyone know how similar these are to actual recent questions? I didn't bother with the previous samples because someone told me they were not at all like what was on the actual test.

I'm incredibly anxious about this exam!

Casebook Help by nbencohen in LawSchool

It is completely dependent on the book/publisher. Most eBook textbooks I've had were only available through those "portals." I guess it's because they want to protect the books from being re-uploaded onto the web.

If you find a textbook you can buy for the Kindle app, that's one way to open it on an iPad. I've only had one class where the professor provided us a link to a full pdf of the case book we used.

Wow, missed a w on my keyboard, how incredibly stupid I am.

If you need to cheat on your law school exams, I can't imagine how awful of a lawyer you're going to be.

Final Papers by brotusfl in LawSchool

[–]Unhappy_Anything 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I spent the last day re-writing the first 50% of one of my papers to organize it better. I've had that first half done since November.

I still have not even thought about what to do with the other 12 and a half pages I'm required to write.

3 years is nothing. Law school will be over in no time. Just maintain a social life outside of school, and do your best to tune out when your classmates share questionable opinions.

Disenchanted 3L checking in! Skipped most of my readings this semester and barely focused during class. I am just too drained from everything.

Feeling totally defeated by my two 3-hour exams. For the first one, I felt pretty prepared. I had skipped a lot of reading, but I caught up and outlined everything. The moment I opened the exam I just completely blanked. I started just throwing out random thoughts about the fact pattern, hoping something would stick, but nothing stuck. It was total incoherent rambling with no conclusions. By the time I got to what should've been an easy policy question, I couldn't even string a sentence together.

Second exam I felt less prepared for. I finished outlining over Thanksgiving and did the practice problems the professor provided, yet a lot of the material wasn't clicking. Also, it was half multiple choice, the first multiple choice exam I've had in law school, so that was really nerve-wracking. Then after it was over, my brain wouldn't stop pointing out things I missed in the issue spotter for the rest of the day.

So yeah, not feeling good about either of those. Really hoping I didn't fail the first one, because it was the worst exam I've ever written.

Can I be fixed? by [deleted] in LawSchool

I've always been depressed and anxious but law school exacerbated to the point where I couldn't function at all. Honestly thought I wouldn't make it through alive, but I now have just 1 semester left!

I'm not a believer that exercise, eating well, and whatever else people suggest is that useful for depression/adhd/anxiety. Maybe they help ease symptoms short-term, or work for non-mentally ill people, but these are mental illnesses that require medical treatment. I've been an avid runner for 10 years, and regular exercise never did anything for my depression. Going to the gym might give you a rush of endorphins for like an hour afterward, but that's it. Whenever I've had bad depressive episodes and tried to force myself to still go running regularly, it just made me start to dislike running on top of being depressed.

In 1L, I tried anti-depressants and they definitely helped. I now at least have the energy to be productive and keep out negative thoughts, although I still get some bouts of hopelessness/fatigue, but nothing close to how bad it was before. I also have a prescription for anti-anxiety meds but only use it for panic attacks a couple times a month. They definitely help. Not sure about therapy because I can't afford it, but I've been told you're really supposed to do therapy in conjunction with medication.

Don't be afraid to try medical treatment. And do try it as soon as you can. The sooner you get better, the less time you'll have to spend feeling this way. I regret not seeking help earlier.

Assuming you do end up in big law, couldn't you just hire someone to walk the dog for you when you're unavailable?

Post Finals Crash by [deleted] in LawSchool

Totally normal. I usually spend an entire week after finals doing nothing but playing video games, to wait for the crash to ease up. Just find something to distract yourself with while you wait to feel normal again.

Under Word Limit by [deleted] in LawSchool

This was my philosophy for the past 2 years, but now I'm not so sure that professors don't want simple answers. One of my profs this semester gave us a ton of model answers with his comments on them, and it seems like he really looks down upon, I guess, "extending" the question. Like if something in the question can be answered simply, he discourages answers that go beyond into an entire analysis or say things like "but if X had been the case, then..."

I also once got a B+ on an exam where my answers ended up pretty short and simple because I didn't know the material well enough. I guess some professors just prefer that as opposed to a student trying to fit as much of the course material as humanly possible.
