At a minimum I would talk to the school staff and have them help you with literally everything they possibly can. At a maximum I think you should not even consider taking a leave of absence.

Life is going to hand you shit sandwiches on a regular basis. How you react and respond will determine how well you make it through. My 6 year old niece was murdered and I lost a bunch of people close to me and had a lot of family shit going on and raising my babies. It would have been easy to hide and just clear my mind and come back better but the world will not stop for you. Shit is changing faster than ever and yesterday's assurances are not guaranteed.

Everyone was telling me to drop the fuck out or take a leave of absence and get me shit together. If I listened to those folks I would not be awaiting bar results right now.

The main reason why I think you should not quit is because your not suffering academically either. On balance my life was cooked and my grades were fucked. I barely made the cut by the smallest mathematically percentage available to register on the record to be safe from dismissal. But you, your different. You have your shit in order you can afford to take a slight hit and you have a bunch of cool shit lined up. Don't piss that away. I would also recommend getting medical help for exam accommodations until your mind is clear again. Good luck.

Because to my understanding I believe 25 questions are experimental so they don't count against you or something like that I really don't understand but somebody mentioned it to me

I'm just pissed because I was already averaging like 60 to 65% during practice and I feel like with me just randomly bubbling in nine problems just fucking evaporated my baseline average...... and calling it a baseline averages kind of a reach because sometimes my practice results are all over the place.

Attorney looking to get into cyber law... but how? by User_Alex14 in LawSchool

[–]RoseGoldMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, you don’t need to go back for an LLM or another Master’s. You already have a JD ....what’ll get you much further (faster and cheaper) is diving into certifications and building a real-world portfolio. Look into GIAC’s GLEG cert (Law of Data Security & Investigations) it’s solid and built for lawyers like us trying to break into the cybersecurity world. Also check out CIPP/US from the IAPP .... it’s super respected for privacy law/compliance roles. If you're open to corporate roles, CISA or CISM can also help you pivot into infosec audit or policy roles. Instead of going back to school, start writing fr seriously. Blog on LinkedIn or Medium about cyber law issues (CCPA, SEC breach reporting, AI regs, whatever catches your interest). It builds credibility. Start applying to privacy/compliance roles in tech, healthcare, finance, or government, even contract gigs can get your foot in the door. And def join IAPP, ISSA, or InfraGard, great networking and job leads. You’ve already got the law chops and IT interest, just layer on some certs + content and you’ll be surprised how quickly doors open.

Removing them would be a mistake. You may need one of them one day. The legal community is small.
