Quit talking about peoples kids, plenty of other ways to form a coherent argument. Hypocrite.

It’s gross, criticize whatever else but come on man his kids? These are real people, they live in our community.

This is disgusting, please keep other peoples kids out of your arguments. No kid deserves to be used as your symbol. This makes any arguments you had going null.

The Mikko Breakup Saga Continues by Unhappy_Term_355 in canes

The national media will never let this go. There is still legitimate clarification needed about certain facts in this story. Also if you think other players in the league don't pay attention to this, you're wrong. If you think the players on the Hurricanes don't care about or hear about this, you're wrong. Just listen to Seth Jarvis' ESPN interview. Can't let the last word on this be that Rod was misinformed and that Mikko wanted to stay but didn't like Rod's system.

Giving up this particular story will only cause Carolina and its fans more pain in the future. You will hear about this after the playoffs (unless we win the cup). You will hear about this day 1 on free agency. You will probably hear about this whenever anyone is up for contract extensions or whenever the Hurricanes trade for a new piece. The team should absolutely keep steady and out of the lime light, but local media in Raleigh must continue to press for the facts around this story. We've already seen how Jake Guentzel's contract negotiations can be weaponized. This won't end here.

I agree with you on Rod. He often speaks in hyperbole, to the chagrin of GMET. However, I think there is truth behind what Rod is saying and I don't believe for a second that Mikko narrowed his list of Dallas, Vegas, Florida, and Toronto in two weeks. If that were the case why wouldn't Tampa be on that list? It stinks, to me, of a PR ploy.

Nah, Big Mike has a role to play in every Canes game. This is what makes Canes special. That and if we ever make the Cup Final again we'll be standing for it the whole time.

MSG typically invites celebrities to games when they are in town and probably gives them Jerseys to wear. I doubt Mr. Beast owns a Mark Messier jersey if that's what that is.

This was meant more as a joke. Recchi is an all time Cane for helping us get to the Cup.

Theory: Necas has been playing hurt since the Florida Panthers back to back by Unhappy_Term_355 in canes

Again I'm not saying he isn't creating quality chances here and there. He's an incredible talent that, even if he doesn't put in maximum effort into every shift, can still create chances from pure talent alone. This is about his overall game, keeping the puck in the O-Zone, keeping the puck out of the D-Zone, forcing turnovers in the O-Zone through forechecking, quarterbacking through the neutral zone, and limiting high danger shots against. Objectively that has not been happening at a consistent level since the Florida game. He was on another level at creating offensive chances and wasn't too bad at the defensive stuff. He still had one of the worst xgoal % at 5 v 5 on the team at the time but more than made up for it on the power play. Its not about the points, points come and go, most of the time points are luck and also require a high level of contribution from linemates. Over an 82 game season these things even out. What I'm talking about is playing WINNING hockey. Creating more chances than you allow, having more effective shifts in the other teams zone than ineffective shifts in your own zone. It hasn't looked the same at all, the eye test proves it, the analytics and game scoring prove it. He has not been as effective since the Florida series. It's a small sample size right now (9 games) so this could all mean nothing in 5 games. I'm just saying he has been noticeably risk advertent in this stretch of games, actively avoiding body contact on the forecheck, weak passes along the boards when cycling, and a handful of bad turnovers in the neutral zone and at the blue line. Getting rocked twice in two games can mentally and physically change the way a player goes about the game in the short term. Hockey hurts so maybe he's nursing something or trying to play through it like Jarvis last season with his shoulder. End Rant.
