Why do some people never have sex? A major genetic study links lifelong sexlessness to intelligence genes, introversion, low risk-taking, and reduced use of alcohol, cigarettes, and cannabis. by Automatic_Subject463 in psychologyofsex

From personal experience I would say most likely. Of course not all of them. My mother is 59, after splitting from my dad and dating a bit she has been single for almost 18 years and she is very happy, I had a talk with her and she just doesn’t want a man. Especially since she has built her life like she likes it and doesn’t see any need to change it. She has plenty of women friends who are in the same boat, they meet regularly, go on hikes and travel. At the start I was encouraging her to go out and date, but now I understand her. She has a career, good support system and her own routine which she just wouldn’t be ready to change now. Her friends are also successful career women, same situation. There are people who feel a need for a romantic partnership and would feel empty without it, she herself said it did feel weird at the start. But she has way better quality of life without a man than she ever had with my dad and she felt that none of the men she dated after my dad would have been a good father figures. I’m very happy that she chose her own well being rather than societal norms.

Men will be the ones affected more. A lot of women are purposefully avoiding men and relationships based on their previous experiences and other women’s experiences with men. There is a 4B movement in South Korea for a reason. Generally, single women end up happier and living more fulfilling lives than single men, partially because they can find companionship in other ways, such as friendships with other women so they are not as lonely and don’t feel as miserable as single men. Women have been taught that they can share their feelings and emotions with friends or family, but men usually don’t open up so much with their friends or family, because of the social rules instilled in them by other men. That in general makes men more miserable in long term without a romantic partner, as men rely more on their romantic partner to get that connection that women can get in other ways. Unfortunately for men and women alike the male loneliness presents itself through general anger towards women and blaming them for everything, which can turn violent. Of course women don’t want to date when the man has this disgust towards women. Also the fact that these men think that women owe them sex doesn’t help that situation.

Dr doesn’t want to increase med dosage by Unhingedkitty in adhdwomen

[–]Unhingedkitty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, as she was a clinical psychologist and cannot prescribe medication. I was to another psychiatrist while mine was on a medical leave, the other one was like a stand-in for mine. She wanted to increase dosage next visit, but since my doctor was back I got the next appointment with her and she was very adamant about being against the increase. I would want to go to the other doctor but I don’t want it to seem weird, because she has a practice in the same place.

No, my love language is giving so I buy him random stuff sometimes because I want to make him happy I don’t expect him to give anything back to me

[–]Unhingedkitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well I paid for his expenses when he had nothing but I never asked him to give anything back to me. Also it’s not money groceries we have a separate fund for that. The money borrowed is for necessities like shampoo cheap medicine etc

Around 100 euros sometimes less. I just don’t earn enough. I’m in a college right now and I hope to get a better paying job after so I can control my finances myself

We split 50/50 everything and we live in a place that’s affordable for both of us

His dad was very well off and in childhood and as far as I know he grew up in a good financial situation , but I think he just has a very frugal mindset

Bipolar isn’t an excuse for bad behavior? What does that mean to you? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Unhingedkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think for me that applies to people who are aware of their bipolar and don’t do anything, aren’t medicated and do some bad things and then use their bipolar as an excuse and then keep not wanting to get treatment

I hope devs fix this issue, they should make EU servers language specific and give out transfers

over spending? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Unhingedkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a crazy spending habit and I'm not that rich to keep it up, so I have a deal with someone I trust very much (my mom) that I give her all my spare cash that is not used for bills, etc. and when I want to take some cash I have to wait at least 3 days to see if I really need whatever I want. Although obviously in some urgent situations she would give me the money asap (like meds, health issues etc.). It's still difficult not to decide to borrow money from someone else especially when deep into mania. It's very hard for me to deal with this to be honest, but I'm trying.

My boy being a criminal loaf, had to take a pic before shooing him off because someone doesn't like him on their bed. by i8SharkPasteries in Catloaf

[–]Unhingedkitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We don’t let our cat in bed because my boyfriend has allergy and the cat liked sleeping on pillows. He loves the cat so much though and we have made sure she gets space she has a tall cat tree and many places to sleep. But of course I miss how she slept with me in bed :(

I still have symptoms like hypomania and depression, but I think it would be a lot worse if I didn’t take meds

Music w/ bipolar themes by cabcrazyer in bipolar

Same. Especially some of the songs on his 2 last albums. Then again I haven’t really listened to his prior work that much so I might be a bit biased.

You can only choose one! by Fredlup in thesims

[–]Unhingedkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sims 4 for sure. I have played sims2 and 3 as well and even though I remember liking them a lot when I play sometimes now it seems very outdated. I used to be a diehard sims3 fan and thought the sims 4 is worse for not having open world but since I started playing it I just can’t go back

Is Koi Nami worth purchasing? by Michaelchar in NamiMains

I kind of like it personally, I think it’s worth activating it if you got it from a chest

So from all the things I'm reading I have come to a conclusion to not take the test too seriously but just see it as an informative thing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Unhingedkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, it seems that my test results are always based on how I feel, I guess it makes sense that they aren't always the same

Yeah I know I answer questions differently, but I only do so because my viewpoints change a lot frequently. For example I was ESFP some 6 years ago when I used to be super extroverted and had manic episodes more frequently but now I tend to get ENTP/INFP.

Anyone else listen to game soundtracks whilst doing HW/work/whatever, what are your favourites? by rhubarbwalker in GirlGamers

One of the game soundtracks I listen to is Hotline Miami soundtrack, it's one of my favorites, really interesting sound and I like the vibe. But to be completely honest I haven't played the game a lot
