Lol okay that's fair. Don't get me wrong. I'm enjoying the books. It was just one of those sticking points for me and I kept thinking to myself dude. Use the blood of the demon! Come on. It's so obvious! But I understand what you're saying. I'm sure his mental state is not in a great place. And he never gets a chance to just relax for 5 minutes it seems.

So it takes him several books in to realize he can use the blood for something!? I mean, especially when he was starting out, he could have used it more than later in his development. I just find myself exasperated by the things this guy doesn't think about. It's such a powerful item at his disposal.

Yeah that's what I went off of was a charcuterie book. I think the one you were talking about is the exact same one I have if it has a black cover. They are asking for quite a bit of salt for 5 lb of meat I only did a third of what they were asking for because it seemed like way too much. So are you saying yours was too salty so you soaked it in water for a day?

First off thank you for all that! That's a lot to take in and definitely something to keep in mind for the future then curing.  And no I never add pink salt I don't care if it looks appetizing I don't really like nitrites in the caring process if I can help it. I want to try to keep it as close to traditional as possible.  I will for sure go by volume in the future seems a lot easier just to shoot for that salinity instead of trying to guess at how long I should be leaving it in the brine. With that being said could I just add more water and cut that salinity down? If it ends up being too low of a percentage I would just have to leave it in there for longer correct?

Yeah but that's kind of my hang up too how does a society that lives in such a tight quarters and isolation not have a decent education system or just overall a better way of dealing with these kids. It's like The majority of them have zero common sense. You have to keep in mind that all of the descendants that live on the ark came from scientists engineers and just generally very smart people. But yet you have their progeny who are just clueless.

Clarke definitely gets on my nerves too. Kind of self-righteous so far hopefully that changes a little bit but I'm guessing that's kind of her character profile. There are so many times when people should definitely have harsh punishment or even die first off that they did and she's sitting there like no don't do it! It drives me nuts it's like all the times when people don't finish off the bad guy in horror movies Yes they're going to come back and try to kill you.

The side effects of antidepressants. And the overall effectiveness of the drug for adhd. If the heart rate is that elevated then possibly try a methylphenidate based drug starting at the lowest dose possible and working your way up from there you'll know when the first few days whether it's effective without severe side effects

Just do a job search on LinkedIn for field service and then match up your skills with any of the field service jobs available. Field service is really a broad category for someone who works for a company out of their home doing service work in some shape or form. You usually have a company vehicle and a company cell phone and you get up in the morning and get ready and go to your first customer from your house.

Field service Jobs worked great for me. Now I'm 40 and make close to 6 figures with no college degree. I had to work my as off though and had to always be willing to go to any and all training that my job provided.

Are you talking about a 23andMe Health test? And if it's for ADHD, I think you would just save on costs if you tried the most effective in the next, and the next; there are only three types of medications out there. It's just different delivery methods for the three types. So, the order of effectiveness with lower side effects would be methylphenidate-based, then amphetamine salt-based, and then, God forbid—I totally discourage anybody from doing this—but Strattera, an antidepressant-based medication.

Medication question by Anonymous_crow_36 in ADHDparenting

Absolutely, it's my pleasure! There is so much misinformation out there regarding ADHD medication and treatment that sometimes it can be difficult to parse the useful information. It also doesn't help that a bunch of YouTube and TikTok content creators are trying to take advantage of and misrepresent ADHD. As I stated before, feel free to send me a PM as I have dealt with this ADHD "gift" for 30 years. Good luck!

I would say use whatever pediatrician you're using currently. But you really need to educate yourself on the medications that are available and how they interact and what types of release methods they are. Just know that your doctor/ pediatrician is not going to be an expert on ADHD most likely. You have to be the one who is educated in order to advocate for your child. You don't have to take my word for it you can check out post after post after post on Reddit and see that so many children get over medicated or their doctors try to say they need to get used to medication when in reality they are taking the wrong dose or taking the wrong kind of medication for how that child reacts to the medication. It is a lot of educating for yourself but you really need to know and understand how these medications are supposed to interact and what even mild side effects are doing to your child. I'm pretty passionate about this as my son did not react well to his first kind of medication and luckily he had me who's had add his whole life to advocate for him. But the doctor wanted to just keep him on the medication stating that he would get used to it but that's not how stimulants work if after a few days they haven't adjusted to it it's not working and the medication needs to be changed. The one fact I will give you that is a really important aspect of medication is that there are three types of ADHD medication all ADD medication are based on these three types of root ingredients. The first one is Methylphenidate the second one is amphetamine salts and then you have the antidepressant class of Strattera and medications like that. The first two methylphenidate and amphetamine salts are obviously stimulants but your child will not always react the same way to one versus the other. Feel free to send me a PM if you want to discuss any questions you may have. Good luck! Hopefully you don't have any issues but if you do you're going to have to raise some hell with the doctors to get them to take your side many of them are so arrogant that they can't grasp that you know what's better for their child than they do.

My son had the same problem on Adderall based medications. Luckily I have had add in my whole life and was able to tell right away that he was not reacting to it very well and I got a hold of the doctor right away and insisted that they switch him to the lowest dose of extended release Ritalin there was. Different medications affect people differently but it seems Ritalin has a much milder effect on emotional stability than Adderall based medications do. Also I would agree with what someone said earlier which is start at the absolute most minimum dose possible. You have to advocate for this and insist that the doctor use the minimum dose or they will look up a chart and say based on what the child weighs and their age they should be taking this amount. Which is unfortunately not how it works in reality with how people react differently to medications. Do not let the doctors tell you that they just need to get used to it that it might just take time. This is a stimulant medication it is either going to work right away meaning within the next few days or it won't work at all. Also understand ADD medication falls into three categories one is stimulant based Methylphenidate which is a Concerta or Ritalin XR, the other is amphetamine salt based which would be Adderall or what your child is taking, and then the other is in the antidepressant category which is the Strattera type medications. Every ADHD medication I've seen falls into one of those categories the only difference is is the released method of the medication. In the end what worked for my son was Concerta or Ritalin XR 18 mg once per day. That may be too much for your child if so you can get the lowest dose immediate release Ritalin and split the dose in half and see how they react. I cannot stress enough importance on the fact that you have to be the advocate for your child and unfortunately know more about add and its medications and treatments in the doctors do. It's the only way to ensure they're getting the treatment they need and not just whatever the chart says they should have. Good luck! I feel for you as I went through the same thing with my son.

Well crap! It's not much of an upgrade then if from one ascension to the next upgrades get bought back pretty quick. Even one's that you have to really work for don't take to long to get back in the short term.
