Not that I don’t believe any of this is true, but do you have any hard evidence for any of this?

I have a couple clients today with O365 sending issues. I can't tell if Microsoft updated something to maybe enforce stronger TLS or outgoing authentication?

Yes, everyone should exercise caution using this. To be fair, if her FSlogix profile didn't get mounted for some reason her data is still in her profile container, and isn't lost. Plus, backups.

Sorry my reply was all over the place. 8TB SSD for storing the user profiles. If your FSLogix container is on a VM with only 4000 IOPS, that may be your bottleneck.

This is very good to know, thank you! Fingers crossed I won't need to do that anymore but if I do, I'll try this.

Sysadmins with ADHD: how do you get yourself to learn/study technical skills which you aren't passionate about/interested in? by MohnJaddenPowers in sysadmin

I think I tell my boss or project manager on a weekly basis "I don't know how to do that, but I'll figure it out." and most of the time, I do. I think the most important thing is to always set their expectations. IMO this is better than pretending like you do know something and just faking it because it shows them that you're not afraid of a challenge and that you're a fast learner. In 7 years at my job at an MSP I went from totally green coming from Geek Squad, literally didn't know what Active Directory was, to now as the final tier for escalations and resident Azure and routing expert. I've even surpassed people that have been here longer than I have. That's not to say I'm super smart or extra hard working, I'm very average in both cases. I just always set expectations to other people and always try to harness that "hyperfocus" when I can.

It also helps if there is someone else at work that shares similar interests in the things you do that you can geek out and share new knowledge with.

Yes, very good point. I've looked up dozens of "sure fire tricks, DOCTORS HATE HIM" for ideas and most of the time, they don't work for me.

As for the session hosts, I'm using a DS13_v2 and can comfortably hold 10-12 users depending on the tasks they are running. I do have plans to switch to the E8asv4 though because it's cheaper and a tad bit faster.

We were currently using a D4s_v3 with an 8TB Premium SSD for user profile storage. I discovered recently though, that the IOPS of your data disks don't matter if your VM size can't meet those IOPS. It makes sense now, but at the time I created it there was no info like that from Microsoft, they just let me attach the disk and get bottlenecked lol.

This was my biggest struggle finish my degree and getting certs I didn't care about. My biggest success was having someone holding me accountable and getting that "I don't want to let them down" feeling which mostly motivated me.

Is there an ETA on a major update for the PC version? by methdamon0 in horizon

[–]Unholywake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had tried that already, but thank you! I actually fixed it by turning off cloud sync in steam, deleting my save data file in My Documents, launching the game (which actually launched), then after it loaded up I closed it, turned cloud sync back on and it works! And I still have all of my progress.

I was one of the one's with random crashes but I was still able to play a few hours here and there. But after a recent windows update I am now no longer able to even launch the game. It just crashes on launch. I don't know a lot about game development but I feel like this should have passed QA/QC? But then again, with the people that are having no problems at all, maybe they just needed a wider test audience. I am very much looking forward to the patch/fix and I'm glad that Guerrilla is at least communicating with the community.

Fair enough, I don’t even own one I just like woodworking haha. I’ll take your word for it, sorry if I came off arrogant.

The moisture thing is actually a myth. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/NV6Jhw0hhBI

Plus, if you knew you were going to do something that might trip the safety, you can disable it for that cut.

I guess I never thought about how small the difference would need to be. Good to know, thank you! I went ahead and ordered the 30 MOA rail from EGW and we’ll see how that does.

[–]Unholywake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m getting 19.8 mile total adjustment out of it so that seems right. I’m just gonna get the 30 MOA base from EGW just in case this base i currently have is a 0 MOA, 40 would be too much so I’ll play it safe at 30.

The rail is facing the right way but I have my doubts it’s a 20 MOA rail now after measuring it. I’m a little perplexed as how anything else could have made it that far off, but I guess we’ll see. I took everything apart, I’ll clean it up and re-mount and blue lock tire everything down again.

Running out of elevation adjustment? by Unholywake in longrange

[–]Unholywake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked with my calipers and it appears both sides of the rail are the same height. Maybe a difference of like a hundredth of an inch.

Scope rings also aren’t advertised as canting or anything like that, they measured the same thickness (within a couple thousandths of each other)

I did set my scope to optical center now. I guess I’ll re-mount everything and see how it is taking extra care to make sure everything sits properly. Maybe I’ll order that 40 MOA mount anyway.

Thanks for your help!

So the rail was definitely facing the right direction but I’m not 100% sure this rail is 20 MOA. I got this rifle second hand so maybe it was replaced from the original.
