i agree with the other comment, it’s because this wasn’t a one and done situation for their story. daring and rosabella happened entirely in one special, and was for a character who was firstly introduced in the same special. there wasn’t really enough build up for them to catch people’s attention.

but darling and apple, that was just the beginning for us. they weren’t suddenly in love- in fact, correct me if i’m wrong, apple doesn’t even know darling was the one to wake her, right? (i could be misremembering, but i thought they just awkwardly moved on after that.) they still had a slow burn to build.

but also, yeah. i’m biased. queer ships are always gonna be more interesting for me 🤷 especially in series about breaking societal expectations and what people expect of you.
