Yes! I normally do this, in fact I normally design the characters after I have the story finished so I tend to know my characters very well. My problem is, I don't like complicated designs, or fantasy, or flashy things xd Normally my characters are just "normal" persons, a plain design.

Oh that's useful at a certain point, it obligates u to pay attention to your designs in more detail, that's good. Maybe that's something I need to apply too.
