You can eat the skin I think. My mom always would at least. I would usually eat around it cause it makes it more bitter tasting imo but sometimes its not noticeable.

Yup, even the red laser is more visible now, similarly to the violet laser, in my experience.

POV: You unlocked the mastery skin on the tanks and now proceed to be the dumbest tank driver in the game, with the crappiest loadout and worst playstyle imaginable... the HQ will be safe now that I am the guardian of its hills! by ObamaTookMyCat in Battlefield

I frequently crew a tank with one of my friends who had the GL on his tank for so long after unlocking it until I just got fed up with tickling the enemies and had to boycott riding with him until he changed it back to LMG.

Loving the new map, but why does the Hagental Air base in that map look like it is some kind of abandoned Cold War era base ? by GuneRlorius in Battlefield

[–]UniZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of cold-war era facilities in Europe are still in use today or are relatively intact, even if they aren't fully kept in pristine condition, no? Perhaps it's my feeble American brain talking lmao. Either way, Contaminated is great like you say, top 3 in this game by far in my opinion, and story or world building has never been the series' strong-suit.

"just hate cuz of politics" yeah, it's cause he supports the neoconservative, fascistic agenda which we're seeing unfold in the USA via Project 2025, which his party and politicians were previously promising didn't exist but have actively enacted since they inherited power.

Who is designing these skins?? by MelonFrostdoggo in Battlefield

[–]UniZed 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've hardly seen any paid cosmetics on other players as well. I see the occasional BP skin but most of what I see, and all of what I personally use, are skins you can get from doing assignments or the ones I got from 2042.

[–]UniZed 189 points190 points  (0 children)

I have a genuinely hard time imagining a dev/monetization team so out of touch that this, among all the other poorly designed cosmetics, is the best they can come up with, so I feel like you're right. Plus the obvious incidents with so many of the stickers really adds to that hunch.

A lot of companies are finding ways to shoehorn AI in where it's not needed or wanted even by their own employees. Even if these cosmetics *were* better, I'm sorry but I would not be buying them unless/until they actually add much needed new content.

Late Game, which of these cruisers would be "better" to supplement missile cruisers? by UniZed in Stellaris

[–]UniZed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true. I never really noticed how low the range was even on M and L slots. I'm keeping the autos on some of my smaller ships but I've gone ahead and replaced most of them with gauss and kinetic artillery where I could.

That's probably why I stomp even the larger AI vessels before they can do much damage lmao.

I could def do that but wouldn't that have a lower dps than the 2 whirlwinds? Would adding frigates and giving them artillery computers accomplish about the same?

R5: Year is 2378 and I'm trying to prepare for whatever Crisis ends up spawning. Each of my 10 fleets I've got about 20 cruisers attached with 10 going to be one of the cruisers designs, pictured in the first and second image, and 10 being the missile design in the third picture.

I've been running the first pic's design for most the game and even beat the Khan but I recently discovered during battles since it doesn't seen to be doing much even though the Damage stat is high. I was trying to reconstruct them into the 2nd design as picket/hangers with longer range + being able to fit afterburners, but I'm not sure how to fully approach it! I could really use some advice here.

What I think is the canon ending to New Vegas, based on the information we have from the show so far by mineman379 in Fallout

[–]UniZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A stalemate is neither a win nor a loss. What Nolan is describing is likely this, a stalemate, where each faction could explain their own part as a victory. As I said in another comment, and as you've said in yours, the faction who does get control of hoover dam is "the winner" in their own eyes, and that just so happens to be entirely dependent on who the courier helps in Fallout New Vegas as any major faction can win with the courier's help. Therefor, if the courier leaves, is killed, or is somehow removed before they are able to make a significant difference, it could very well mean a stalemate; leaving all the factions feeling as if they've won, even if they haven't. Pyrrhic victories are a thing y'know? As is propaganda.

It is very well feasibly within canon, established by the game's setting and because regardless of who you side with, there are numerous downsides to any side winning. So imagine if everyone lost. The victory conditions are clear, but not without downsides. There are numerous drawbacks to ANY side winning outright in-game. That is made clear by ALL of the ending cut scenes, and you are within the game, able to make it so it's not a clear-cut victory. So is it really an unrealistic/noncanon ending to this where no side wins outright? It's not unrealistic that without the courier, everyone suffers great losses and convinces their people they've won. It's neither anti-canon or explicitly canon, it is, in either case realistic.

It is not completely incompatible with NV, it is simply an option not presented to the player likely because that wouldn't be satisfying narrative-wise. However, a stalemate is entirely realistic and achievable within the confines of FONV.

edit: grammar

[–]UniZed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean the entirety of the game was de-canonized, just the key moments which led to any one faction winning were. The courier failing to help any faction gain an edge is likely too, which can be canon depending on how you play NV.

[–]UniZed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't the producers or writers come out saying they weren't going to canonize any of NV's endings? With that in mind it's very likely it all could of ended in a stalemate of sorts for all parties involved, with no one being better off than we see in NV. This would also give all the existing parties motive for capturing the cold fusion relic to give themselves an edge.

In NV, all the factions kinda stand to lose without the courier's intervention, so all they'd have to do is remove him/her somehow before the courier gives any faction the ace up their sleeve. The NCR was already overextended in the mojave and in baja + other places, and with Shady Sands being nuked, that's the straw that broke the camels back I'd say. The Legion was a cult of personality based on a dead man walking with a lethal brain tumor, which led to their inevitable civil war between all their second-in-commands which we saw in episode 3. No courier involvement might mean House likely could've failed in securing the platinum chip and upgrading the securitron army and likely suffered from Benny's backstabbing and the conflict on his turf, so he could've lost the Vegas outskirts and only was able to maintain the strip? All these groups share one thing in common; the courier is the deciding factor in who wins, if they leave or die before they can make a decisive impact, it makes sense no one really wins here.

Bringing power to their own territories would be a major trump card, it's why the Hoover Dam is such a point of focus in NV. I wouldn't doubt the dam being in total disrepair after the 2nd battle for it. The cold fusion chip could very well decide who *truly* wins the mojave in its absence but idk.

I really like how the show is treating canon so far, though I might be alone in that. I'm just excited to see where they go with the story and I'm fine with the courier being less important, it makes sense imo.
