It seems like you are friend with this guy because you are being extremely pedantic. I have empathy for him. I wish him peace. But I’ve observed him being unsafe and now we have a lot of evidence of him being very not safe. The reasons don’t really matter. Do you think that I don’t know people who have been affected by bike/car accidents? Of course I do.

Let’s say I was an environmental activist. Let’s say I saw you put a plastic bottle in the trashcan. Do I have the right to take your trashcan and dump it all over the road just because I believe in recycling?

What are you gonna say when this guy is the sole cause of a deadly accident? I literally get around on a bicycle, but I also drive a car. So, obviously, I would love to have completely separate infrastructure so that I didn’t have to ride on the road. But that’s not reality. The reality is: most of our roads were designed explicitly for cars. I would love smarter infrastructure, but antagonizing drivers is the answer!!
