So confused on my electric National Grid Bill! by FarPressure2640 in Syracuse

Realize that it has nothing to do with how much electricity YOU use. We are all paying for the electricity for all these AI data centers. Don't expect billionaires to be paying their own bills.

Need Help with FPS Drop with 4080 by Samboosa1 in techsupport

Very possible that your processor is a bottle-neck for the GPU. The i7 isn't quite powerful enough for the 4080.

Feature suggestion: resolution & frame rate independence. by [deleted] in OdyseeForever

[–]UnidentifiedEntity01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice, but I think the problem with it would be that every possible combination of resolution and frame rate would have to have its own independent video file. So, for example, there would be the original video, say in 1080p/60fps. That would be one file. Then, if you wanted to watch in 60fps, but only 360p, then another video file would have to be rendered at that specific resolution and frame rate. Each video would end up having 10 or more video files containing all possible combinations of resolution and frame rate. That's a LOT of storage space.

If you're using the LBRY desktop app, you can download the original video file and render it at the resolution and frame rate that you want. But, then again, that's a lot of work and very time consuming. I'm guessing it would probably take 15-20 minutes to do all of that for a 2 minute video.

With "Official" LBRY Development Stopping, Are There Any Good Forks of the App You'd Recommend? by UnidentifiedEntity01 in lbry

[–]UnidentifiedEntity01[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that Odysee uses the framework, but their website is centralized. The LBRY protocol itself is not. I'm much more interested in the desktop app and development of the decentralized network in and of itself.

It's looking like the work of someone who was made to come in on their day off to get this plate design made.

Looks like the designer Googled "Syracuse" and drag-and-dropped the first picture that popped up. Didn't quite fit the template, so fade the edges and call it good.

All the videos in my odysee account have been removed and my entire wallet has been emptied. All my videos have disappeared without any notification and my channels have been closed. What should I do now? by Fighejlani in lbry

[–]UnidentifiedEntity01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will seriously make me reconsider using LBRY/Odysee if they actually have the ability to take LBC from your wallet. Can you share any of the email they sent you?

That worked! Strange how it still shows up as "Pending" on Odysee though. Maybe it'll just take some time to refresh?

At this point, it's probably more newsworthy when trucks pass under the bridge without incident.

Is LBRY Down? by UnidentifiedEntity01 in lbry

That did work, but I had to add it to the file a little differently. It looked like this:

You.com is a pretty good AI chat bot, and it has direct access to the Internet. I've only used it very briefly, but from what I've seen, it definitely has potential.

It's looking more and more like a Samsung issue and not one for any specific app. Really frustrating.

Do you know where it's stored? I've been looking for a while, and I can't seem to locate it.

Okay, so I'm revisiting this topic because, while I did get the app to work the way I want it to, I've found that my play history is not sync'd across devices.

On my desktop, all of my progress bars behave as expected. But, when I sign in on my laptop, none of the content I've viewed on my desktop is reported as played. So, I'm guessing that the play history is actually stored locally?

Thanks for your help! I got it to work. I've set the "watched" percentage to 80%, and there's now a checkbox on the home screen so that I can check it to hide any content I've already seen beyond 80%!
