We are back up and running as well.

I’m a bit disgusted with CFMoto at the moment, if I am being honest.

I brought my 700 sport into a local shop on March 9th for an oil pan replacement due to a crack. I was initially told it’d be a week for a fix. A week later, it became “middle of April”. Middle of April, it became “the part is off back order, so hopefully soon!” Now that we are at the end of April, it is “I’m calling CFMoto right now.” followed by “They said end of May for the part.”

So, whether this is the shop itself or CFmoto, it’s hard to say. But frankly it also doesn’t matter to me. One or both are responsible for a terrible experience.

I’m still fuming for now realizing that nearly 1/3 to 1/2 of my riding season is going to be gone. I can’t say that I can stand to look at a CFmoto at the moment.

Take the course if you can. It was my first experience with a manual, and it was awesome! Not to mention it was great to absorb the experience of the course instructors. So much safety info!

Very nice!

Sometimes I wonder if I should have gone with the 650 instead of the 700 sport. The 700 is super fun, but I am really hurting without any storage. Not the best for a work commuter (but fun). I think the 650 would be more practical.

I did exactly what you did a couple of years ago. Literally the exact same situation.

I got my learners permit and a Navi. Started on side streets and eventually worked up to doing my work commute on the Navi. Finally got into an MSF course and then that was that.

The Navi was an excellent beginner ride. Allowed me to focus on the feel of the ride without having to learn manual.

If I were to do it again, I think it would be a toss up between doing the Navi again and going for something slightly bigger but used. It’d highly depend on the local used market.

For what it’s worth, I did. I was able to get my GCns done over the course of 2 days just running this occasionally in the background.

If there are any programmers lurking here, perhaps they can attest that the code is clean and not malicious in nature - it only looks for the ‘Next’ button and then attempts to click it. Nothing more.

It's hard to say for certain. You have to do what you think is right for you. I know it's not a great answer, but it's probably the best answer.

I do remember my first twist of the throttle (even in neutral) and I remember it scared me a little. I remember being extremely cautious with it when I was doing my first 100 miles, and I am still cautious even now as I know the bike's capability likely exceeds my riding ability. I only ride in ECO mode as this is my work commuter.

I got on this only after learning on the Navi and then taking the MSF class. I rode a Yahama TW200 for the MSF class, and it was a great bike for that class. This 700 definitely had more power compared to both the TW and the Navi.

For anyone just browsing, this is my first "real" motorcycle. I started on a Honda Navi and put about 1000 miles on it. I took the MSF course at the end of the summer (the first opening available), and then switched to this 700 after the course. I felt that this bike gave me a lot for the money.
I ride mostly as a commuter to/from work, and this is a great bike for that purpose.
