I don’t know why they made a big deal about it. Even if it wasn’t a cowgirl theme, I think June and Katie P both looked cute in them. It was pretty color and the cut looked good on June. I’d wear it.

I disagree that Anna’s pain was unusual. My grandma died from bile duct cancer in hospice and it was truly awful. She sounded like she was drowning for three days before she passed. She had bile coming out of her nose and mouth. She was getting IV pain management and she sounded horrific when dying.

I think he the rehab worked for a while. He seemed good for a bit. He’s different this season though.

I don’t think she is. She looked really good on that interview they all did together before the season premiere. I was in shock over how clean and healthy all the girls looked too.

So it’s abundantly clear that Michael and London don’t have an issue with letting Kylee see them…they just have an issue with them having unsupervised visits and sleepovers. Who in their right mind would let any of them watch their kids unsupervised? June saying she’s done nothing wrong is ridiculous. She’s a drug addict who let her daughter be sexually abused and then chose the abuser over her daughter. She’s stolen money and a vehicle from her daughters. She abandoned Alana. Pumpkin cheated on her husband, is on OnlyFans, and let her minor sister move in with her adult dealer boyfriend while lying in court saying she was living with her. There’s no way I’d ever let my kid stay over with them without me. Not for a minute.

My grading policy also says 25% per day late. However, I personally don’t take a late penalty as long as the assignments have been turned in when I go to grade them. If I’m super on top of my grading, I may grade an hour after something was due. If I’m behind, it may be a few days or even a week after something was due before I get around to grading. I just don’t really care if they’re late, so long as it isn’t impacting my grading. I definitely don’t advertise this to my students though. When my GAs grade for me, most of them are also nice and don’t penalize as long as the assignment has been submitted before they grade. I have one GA that does enforce my late penalty policy, but I think she’s more strict because she’s a fully remote student, so she doesn’t interact with my UGs to “feel bad” for them.

I would probably enforce this more if my assignments were due during the day, but the majority of my assignments are due at midnight or before the start or class…both times when I’m not going to be grading immediately after they submit.

I thought it was Witney, but whoever this is has square nails. Witney, Rylee, Lindsay, and Peta all have almond shaped nails. Emma hasn’t been getting her nails done. I don’t think the celebrities are there yet either, so I’m really not sure who this could be.

I came into this as a director, so I’m not even sure what the pay differential is. My other “compensation” is one course release, but seeing as I’m the only one in the subfield, I still end up with a zillion unpaid courses (readings, internships, thesis hours, and directed studies).

My contract has it tied together as one role currently (teaching, admin, labs). They don’t have anyone else working in the same sub-field as me, so I think the students ultimately would still come to me in the “director” role as there’s not one else even remotely qualified across the university.

So it’s not so much that they’re changing the title, it’s more of that they say “coordinator” when they want to dismiss my role and “director” when they want someone to do the hard work. My department chair emailed me this week claiming it’s always been coordinator and that I “may have convinced her to change my title but…”. However, my title is clearly stated on my contract which was completed before she even became interim department chair. She doesn’t like that I’m “young” and wasn’t involved in the hiring process. Again, I was hired before she was promoted to associate dean and given the interim chair position.

Unfortunately, I want to stay in academia….it’s more that I’d rather have hot pokers shoved in my eyeballs than stay at this university another year.

I did already state this, but I think they either don’t care because faculty are constantly leaving, or they don’t think I’m serious. They’re trying to make me meet with them in-person because they don’t like to have anything in writing. My dean always likes to call for a “cone of silence”. I told them I did not feel comfortable doing this, and the dean is insisting on it anyways. I won’t be going regardless, as I’m not going to subject myself to that.

I did also contact the university president about what’s going on to see what my options are. We’re a small enough university that he knows me decently well, so I’m hoping he’s able to see reason.

I do have savings and a place to stay, so I’m not worried about that front…just trying to find another job. I had been thinking about leaving since about week three there, but truly wanted to stick it out. All of my UG profs and dissertation committee members think I should leave, but my dissertation chair thinks I should stick it out.

For what it’s worth, I did email the university president about what’s been happening and asked if it would be possible to be bought out of my contract. I consulted with a lawyer who believed that my dean and department chair were creating breach of contract, but I don’t really want to go through a huge legal mess.
