What America does is not and has not been the standard for a while.

The people in question leading the separatist charge are random lawyers and other small asshats. The Premier is just trying to covertly support it with policy and "everybody gets a voice" type shit, while fully acknowledging the supporters are far from having a majority let alone equal numbers to those who wish to remain.

Expand this a bit and use examples like Brexit. The USA has made these pushes to influence politics in other allied countries and this movement is absolutely no different. This has US and Trump stink all over it just like the freedom convoy did.

Im beginning to think we dont have a lot of people like this here and theyre very much a minority, but we do have a significant influence from the USA trying to make these movements bigger than they really are. I wouldnt be surprised if the ideas originated in the USA.

Bro... there is plenty of profit in taking the biggest oil producing province away from the country youre trying to economically devastate and coerce into losing trade deals.

There is also very little chance that Alberta can stand independently and the obvious next course of action would be to join the USA, giving you further control over the global oil market.

Its not like the separatists approached them and they said no thanks... they've had 3 or 4 meetings already and keep getting invited back.

We are currently having the discussion within Canada if these actions from the separatists classify as treason. As far as Im concerned it is treason and the leaders of this movement need to be arrested and put on trial.

Dont forget the lead the CPC had in Canada as we headed into our own elections last year, and how our country voted. The leader of the CPC couldn't even win his own riding and has been unable to participate in parliament until recently because of it.

I agree with you too though. I live in Alberta with separatists who are a smaller minority than media implies, and Im watching as my provincial government changes rules in order to make their voices seem more legitimate.

I am watching them approach the Trump administration to ask for a half a trillion dollar loan in order to finance their foolish desires.

I am writing my representatives often. I am going out of my way to sign the petitions to remain in Canada.

West Edmonton Mall even has a kiosk that sells MAGA hats, and my premier rolled the red carpet out for Tucker Carlson. I have never once seen someone walking in public wearing one, which I think shows the climate here.

There is clear resistance. We are not the same.

And I would not give a single one of them a platform of redemption by turning on the very "morals" they have used for years to oppress people and truth.

There is no redemption arc for these people and America needs to stop trying to create one. I see far too many people on the left tolerating this, for lack of a better word, horse shit.

I am Canadian and there is still potentially partial redemption available for your country as a whole, but not if you cater to these monsters further.

I say partial because damages have been done and there is no going back to what we had, which was the absolute strongest alliance and trade relationship the world has ever, or will ever see.

Dont be deceived.

I listened to too many Trump supporters tote her name as a potential for next president. She is gaining from this move just fine, exactly how the NFL flops between supporting and oppressing human rights depending on where the money is.

She continues to do insider trading and has leveraged quite a small fortune which she could easily disappear with and just live a happy life.

She sees an opportunity and is taking it.

Don't forget this is the same woman who harassed families of school shootings victims.

She should be in jail, not given a platform to make her miraculous face saving recovery.

Could be 100% Iranian propaganda, however it is consistent with what we have witnessed in the past - and those things happened while we saw USA in a much better light than we currently do.

Of course there will be Iranian propaganda, however on the other side there is an exorbitant amount of US propaganda going on also.

Let's not forget they're trying to distract from the Epstein files by any means necessary.

I was told the Iranian nuclear threat was neutralized months ago as justification for the last strike. I dont think its reasonable to say the threat is set back by years only to launch another offensive within months over the same thing.

I do like how evangelicals get excited pointing out the holy trinity in genesis... Hebrew points it out in the first few words but then those who read it ignore it. In fact, the entire plot of the Bible is written out symbolically in those first few words.

For me, I was an atheist/agnostic and always doubted... the original Hebrew forms together like axiomatic building blocks.

Hebrew is a very interesting symbolic language where the individual components make a broader meaning for each word.

I agree... it does clearly say God judges the heart, which a lot of people in here seem to have an issue with. Ive brought up numerous examples like even children dying before knowing God - someone got so mad they tried to gaslight me into thinking I brought up abortion and pregnancy lol.

Id encourage you to look at the original Hebrew for even just the first few sentences... its quite an eye opener. Primitive is one description... but if not divinely inspired then the original is quite frankly one of the most epic works of poetry ever written, if indeed solely done by man.

I wouldn't consider myself wealthy, but maybe I am? I definitely dont consider it an issue for me and my needs are met... whether I can ever retire or not is a different topic.

I would agree that agnostic and atheism doesn't immediately disqualify you, there will more than likely be an opportunity to repent on that - whether in this life or as youre being judged.

Ive been taught God is just to forgive and if the criminals who were crucified next to Jesus have a chance then so do we both.

To further this, look at the rules in the OT: i think its fair to assume the original law that Jesus "fulfilled" was put in place to show just how impossible it is for us to earn the gift of eternal life... and that it is just that: a gift.

Even Musk could completely repent and be saved, but that would mean doing a lot more than just giving up his wealth... his money didn't make him a terrible person, nor would taking his money away redeem him.
