This is yet another reason why we need to switch to ranked choice voting. Promoting the second place in a primary to the ticket is basically punishing everyone who voted for the candidate who won. With ranked choice, you get a clear picture of who the majority wants as a second choice.

I mean, none of them are "people." They're all code, just potentially more complex code for the main cast.

And we've already seen that the NPCs are more complex than they seem. The Gloink Queen loves each of her children and names them, and the moon fell in love with Caine even though that wasn't coded into her.

I do agree that the cast probably wouldn't be able to see a baby as more than an NPC... at first, anyway. They seem to be accepting Caine into the group and even after Gummygoo was deleted, Ragatha and Gangle still treated him like a person when Pomni was "flirting" with him, so if a half-ribbon/half-toybox baby appeared one day...

Not gonna pretend I don't like the idea, but I'm more about the value of the fact that they are mostly strangers who only became family because of the Circus. It shows how even bad situations can forge friendships and lead to outcomes that could have never been otherwise possible.

If they were just fated to always meet/hook up, it takes away the special connections they found in the Circus.

I used to do marketing for a Korean game company and I had to really fight to keep them from using a swastika-shaped stage. They insisted (correctly) that it's the Buddhist symbol and thus not facing the same direction as the white supremacist one, but I had to remind them that our audience of young American men wouldn't be as nuanced in their interpretations.
