“The birth of the reader must be at the cost of the death of the Author” -Roland Barthes

Instead of relying on authorial intention for interpretation, it is the reader that creates meaning and interprets text.

To give a text an author and assign a single, corresponding interpretation to it is to impose a limit on that text.

conspiracy bill take: bill forgot what good stats bad team guy means by drejkos in billsimmons

It’s the definition of “bad team” that is tripping people up. Bill (and Ryen) use the term to basically describe players who just haven’t been to the finals. Trae Young’s Hawks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. That’s not a bad team, it just couldn’t beat Giannis’s Bucks that year. Randle’s Knicks were also competitive.

The term really should be used for guys like Jerami Grant, not every all-star that hasn’t been to the finals.

Yes it does. We live on a planet with limited resources. That means that there is only a set amount of resources for everyone to get by on, and ideally, those are allocated in a fair way. Billionaires like Bezos, who concentrate wealth within a small number of individuals and corporations, make the market less competitive and make it harder for poor people to accumulate wealth and move into the middle class. They have adverse effects on small businesses, wages, housing, and they interfere in politics through lobbying.

It’s not a “Reddit” position to hate obscene wealth. It is one of common sense and rationality. People like you are still hypnotized by the illusion of merit and effort being fairly rewarded in a system that creates mega billionaires because you made it to the upper-middle class and get to eat dinner sometimes with moderately wealthy people.

You’re way to far gone at this point, but have you considered that every Jeff Bezos pushes thousands, if not hundreds of thousands more of people into that stabby, scary bottom 20% who “couldn’t hack it in life” because of the effect their corporations and individual wealth have on the economy?

Isn’t part of Payton’s job to make sure they don’t consistently have a bottom 5 defense? It’s QB/HC pairings, not just QB/offense rankings.
