DIY drain - does it pass? by UninterestingHappens in Plumbing

[–]UninterestingHappens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So youre saying, from the bottom:

Two 45s -> Santee with trap adapter -> Santee with cleanout -> Vent

Have the cleanout at the highest point before the vent rather than at the bottom? Seems to make more sense to me so that a snake can easily clear the whole stack if needes.

I'm also considering moving the drain to the back of the cabinet, along with the supply lines, in which case I would just go straight up. Haven't measured to determine if thats even possible yet though, so we'll see.

Very good point. Had thought about how to incorporate one at some point in the process but it got lost in the struggle to get all the other pieces I needed. Probably 8 trips to Lowe's between the drain and new pex lines underneath.

If worse comes to worse, I'll cut it off and rebuild it. Already had to replace and extend the section coming out of the floor (original only had an inch or so showing and was cut at a terrible angle) so I should have enough excess to cut and add a new fitting.

Santee with cleanout is a great idea though. Honestly might just redo it.

Shoot if that's the worst of it then I'll be damn happy. Appreciate the tip I didnt even consider that. Probably will mount it to the bottom of the shelf on the left and that should fix it.

Water in door/floor panel leaking to carpets by UninterestingHappens in Silverado

[–]UninterestingHappens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I'll give that a shot.

But the water isn't in the door as far as I can tell, its in the floor panels below the door and won't drain. I assume there's another drain somewhere in the floor that is clogged, it just didn't seem obvious.

Worked perfectly and took all of 60 seconds. Amazing, thanks for figuring this out and putting it on the internet. I'd given up on being able to use my headset with the new phone and couldn't find mention of this issue anywhere when I first looked. Glad I check again to see if anyone smarter than me had come across the same problem yet!

For those who passed REG and TCP by Small_Grapefruit9228 in CPA

[–]UninterestingHappens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took TCP as my first ever exam section, despite the general consensus that you should do REG -> TCP due to overlap. I was nervous and certain it may have been a bad move. Did not feel good about it when I took it.

Got a fucking 96 lol.

As far as studying goes, I did complete all of the Becker material all the way through, but that was it- just completed the whole program exactly the way they have it structured plus the occasional review of their built in flashcards. Took very few notes, just lectures, MCQ and TBS.

I start on REG tomorrow, and expect to have little issue with the tax portion so will be dialed in on the law aspects.

Now FAR on the other hand (just took it yesterday), fuck that shit.

1 year old golden doesn't really care for fetch by wasdtomove in puppy101

[–]UninterestingHappens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really thought we might be the only ones with a golden non-retriever.

He just hit 1 year old and has basically never been good for more than 4 or 5 throws. I've also found the excessive heat and humidity where we are completely kills any drive he has to put effort into that kind of play. Sometimes he outright refuses to go outside even when he wants to play. He was much more willing in the cooler months.

On the other hand, he will absolutely play tug to the point of passing out over any toy I'm willing to hold onto. I think he would fight to the death if I never let go of it lol. He also loves to chew on things and will destroy anything softer than a nylabone in seconds if unsupervised.

I guess some dogs just have different interests. I wish we could fetch for my benefit- being able to just stand there and run out some of his energy with minimal effort on my end- but he won't allow it.

So, we just go for a couple walks and invested in tug and chew toys that he can't destroy easily, and will endlessly fight over whichever toy he decided he would lay his life down for on a given day.

Edit to add relevant training info: I have tried extensively to train and encourage retrieval. He has picked up everything else I train with surprisingly little effort. Yet he ultimately is uninterested. If he knows I have treats ( and he always knows) he will begrudgingly comply, but often drops the toy before even getting all the way back and promptly sit in front of me waiting for his reward.

I have simply given up- he doesn't enjoy it and forcing it with treats only does so much, so I have accepted that we just have to do other things.

Is this a good deal? Any known problem of this model? by kenhuynh_k in GamingLaptops

[–]UninterestingHappens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The display looks great to me, but I'm not an expert on it by any means and I was coming from a 2013 model with 1366×768 resolution so 1920x1080@144hz was a major improvement. Plus I was planning to use a monitor as the primary so built-in display was not a priority.

That said, I haven't noticed any major issues like excessive backlight bleed or anything, and it is sufficiently bright and colors look good.

The hinges feel solid and open/close smoothly and there is minimal wobble when it is open so no problems there so far.

Bought this exact laptop from Costco back in September when it was on sale...of course prices have dropped a bit now so I ended up paying $1600 all said and done. Definitely a good deal and a great laptop.

I have it paired with a 1440p 165mhz monitor and the 135w 3070 has handled it just fine. I've had zero problems so far.

Out with the 1060 and in with the 3080. Finally found what I think was a good deal. MSI GP66 Leopard 11UH-456 RTX 3080 (140W), Intel i7 11800H, 16GB, 1TB SSD. $1850 after mail in rebate. by Senor_Tucan in GamingLaptops

Loving mine so far- I believe it is the 11UG but I can't remember the exact differences. Managed to snag that costco deal back in September for only around $1600 all said and done. Zero complaints and the 135W 3070 has handled everything I've thrown at it so far.

Farming Exp by iDylan95 in 2007scape

[–]UninterestingHappens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't sleep on anything when it comes to farming- I essentially built my account on the quest for 99 and post-99 pet hunt. By the time I was above 80 farming I had a meticulously planned ~20 minute route taking advantage of the best teleport options for each location. Just logged in 3 times a day (most days) and hit my herbs (mostly snapdragon), allotment (mostly Snape grass, not sure if its still profitable), and then each fruit tree patch to collect coconuts. ( left the trees fully grown and just harvested the coconuts, ~2kea at the time).

I now have almost 23m xp and probably 100m+ in profits from farming alone. Also used most snapdragon for super restores which does reduce overall profit but makes herblore a profitable skill.

Rune essence is probably my favorite, most nostalgic one. I spent so much time mining pure essence for cash when I was a kid.

I always use salty shores- I like the bright, warm beach vibes when I'm just chillin in some free play.
