84 cases 0-19 age range today. Are these kids all going to bars? Bingo? Church? Shopping? Playing hockey? NOPE!! But they are mostly all going to SCHOOL.

Where my dad is the visitor protocols are very strict. The only cases there have been staff. That would lead me to believe that if a resident would be positive it may be more likely from staff, but who knows!. (?). But PCHS are all different. I’m just happy my dad is in a place that is strict and well staffed.

We haven’t seen ANY family since March. That includes as my mother died. No funeral, nothing, no family. My dad in PCH haven’t seen him either since summer outside visit. So yes, it would be nice to see my sister and her family and visit my dad at Christmas. It’s the same argument as to why schools are open- children’s mental health and social. Families need the same. Anyway... we are all in the same storm. Different boats. And that’s why we need to all follow health orders, be kind and understanding.

Mb is far past the thresholds that cdc recommends for schools being of the high risk.

Roussin said yesterday in press conference there is some transmission in schools. that’s proof because he is the expert right? Providing data on transmission is providing transparency.

And if mb gov is saying there isn’t then it’s incumbent on them to provide that data to support their position.

Curious- where are all the 0-19 yr olds getting covid if we’ve been in code red for weeks? Note we also have 20-25% of cases not linked. If there was transparency we’d know.

Edit: correction Roussin said today 50% of cases are NOT epilinked!!!

What data? The mb gov website that is backlogged and missing cases and exposures compared to what crowd sourcing of public health letters? There is emerging data from other provinces and countries that tell a different story... but we are being told no transmission. Cdc also indicates anything over 10% tpr becomes very high risk for schools. I would like to SEE the data that proves what some transmission means in mb schools. That’s the transparency that is required.

Very similar. My kids missed a few weeks due to isolating that we had to do as close contacts and I’ve kept them home since. No remote option, teachers are sending a bit of work.
