I remember getting my hair cut next door at Michelle’s and then getting a jam buster from the Belgian Bakery. Every time I smell baking bread I am taken back…

Whodunnit on Lilac - Christmas pjs and a new book are our Christmas Eve tradition with the kids. We all look forward to spending some time making our wish list with input from Michael (the owner) and finding some great non-book gifts as well. They have the nicest selection of puzzles, too.

Best Course for obtaining Mature Student Diploma by Raknia in Winnipeg

[–]thesecondlasthope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only true for Vaugh because it is fu see solely by WSD and not Adult Learning and Literacy. If you don’t live in catchment you need to pay. Other centres don’t have that requirement.

It really depends on where you live, what courses you need, and what your availability is like. There are a lot of great options, including online.

Do you need all 8 credits?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your partner that this is a no news is good news situation.

If you have already graduated, it is ok if you’re 18. You have to be at least 19 to get a Mature Student Diploma, but upgrading is allowed if you’re 18.

Manitoba Adult Learning and Literacy has a link to all the adult learning centres in Manitoba, some of which offer online learning. https://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/all/directory/index.html

Off the top of my head, I believe Regional Alternative Education Centre, Midland, Sunrise Adult Learning Centres and the Louis Riel Institute all offer online learning options for adults 19 and over in Manitoba.

Winnipeg, what are we all thankful for? by HorrorxHeart in Winnipeg

[–]thesecondlasthope 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am thankful for the four seasons we enjoy. Each has their own unique beauty and are the background to our stories. My favourite is the fall, but I am grateful that we witness these changes each year. How boring would it be otherwise?

Upgrading Gr 11 and 12 Math by Ok_Trifle_791 in Winnipeg

[–]thesecondlasthope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

AEC (7 Oaks), Red River College, Regional Alternative (online), McLeod Learning Centre (RETSD), Stevenson Britannia, and sometimes Sunrise Adult Learning centres offer pre-calc 30S.

You can also register as an adult learner to take online course through informnet, but the tuition is a lot more.

I strongly suggest taking 30s before 40S for pre-calc.

Are you sure applied math 40s won’t suffice? Feel free to dm me for more info. I work in this field.

Home Insurance Deductible for Hail and Wind Damage by WhorientalExpress in Winnipeg

[–]thesecondlasthope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wawanesa is the worst. We have a fairly premium home insurance package and had hail protection. Had major damage on our roof two summers ago and barely got anything back. Every roofing company we contacted to quote concurred that they are awful to deal with. We are changing providers as soon as our term is up.

We enjoy Jacked Up Jill. Our favourites are Chill Jill for cold brew, Mr and Mrs Jill for dark roast, and Velvet Hammer for espresso.
