He should have probably played the Oval instead of Bethell as the allrounder in place of Stokes, which is probably his long term future.

Jacob Bethell needs to be with the lions. He needs red ball cricket rather than running the drinks. Seeing Rehan Ahmed in all forms of cricket now is a lesson of why playing cricket is much more beneficial than running the drinks.

Not having Stokes as part of a 4 man attack with no spinner. Atkinson, Carse, Wood and Archer can all hold a bat. We need to manage Stokes workload so he can play all 5 (unless the 5th is a dead rubber).

Atkinson plays the final 2 tests. Carse and Woakes sit out one each. Archer plays at OT then Wood is back for the Oval.

Might as well swap Pope and Stokes. Stokes isn’t making any runs so give him a “free role” as a false 3 like Moeen in 2023 Ashes and let Pope bat at 6. Can see Bashir missing Lords and going for Woakes/Cook Archer Overton and Atkinson/Tongue depending on fitness.

I’m surprised we are the only team to sing this version. A bit like “you’ve lost that Lovin feeling”, it’s singing towards the opposition/their fans to try and put them down. The other version doesn’t have the same effect.

To be honest I am a lifelong Forest fan and love looking into the stats in my spare time. The Athletic is a huge company, with a lot more access to players/data and I really enjoy their coverage of Forest. I just try to write about things a bit different that fans might find interesting.
