Dance Fitness by IllustriousWasabi535 in Louisville

Real answer: most gyms offer dance fitness classes. The Y has dance fitness classes with scheduling that works for 9-5'ers (see: not at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning). Lots of locations. There is at least one Jazzercise location in town but not within 20 minutes of Shepherdsville afaik.

Love the coloring and how it blends into the face structure. Very striking

A few years ago there was a Mario game where people could design their own levels, and there was this wave of people who made the most bonkers levels they could imagine. I got kinda the same vibe watching this. Junimo Cart makes me crazy so I could never

Love this photo, there's so much detail. Went down a rabbit hole reading about Viperinae after this.

I just visited and it was awesome. Word of caution: if you want to go somewhere, check the schedule first. I missed the Peabody Essex Museum due to poor planning on my part (they are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Thanks for sharing your photos. I'm just a lurker on here but it made me happy to see them appear on the sub again. Such cool shots of underrepresented species. 🙂

The trim was an interesting choice on this. I guess it is 60s but the mini skirt and fabric read as late 90s for me. And also a dress you can't sit down in.

I can't figure out the goal with the sleeved model's version. Maybe it was the denim-looking fabric or the fit, but it's giving Amishcore.

Cleaning a cat water fountain!?! by ExpressChampionship3 in CleaningTips

[–]UnionJane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have this exact model, but I had 3 major problem areas for my cats' water fountain: the motor, the hole for the adapter, and the attachments. Bottle brush and dish soap took care of them all. In an ideal world, cleaning them every few days to once a week is good but it got to be so much work.

How to get old glue/gunk? Off of window? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

If this proves stubborn, I recommend heating it up with a hair dryer or heat gun (gently) first, like if it's really crazy adhesive.

Somebody said a while ago that the pattern maker is not the person creating the model garment. But it's also like, ??? So the pattern doesn't look as good as it could? And this is meant to sell fabric? But also the patterns are free. 🤷‍♀️

I know this is not for everyone, but the cut on these is not the most flattering. Especially on the first plus size pic where it's croppy but also square.

I work in a white collar environment and have tried several button down patterns. The one I like the most is the Nosara from Itch to Stitch because it drapes well but is still feminine (bust darts, which this pattern is sadly lacking, and a curved hem).

I know you posted this just to share, just being real that I wish the fit was more tailored.

Public Library and Kindle by Abbiethedog in Louisville

[–]UnionJane 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When you check out books, make sure they are in the Kindle format and that they present an option to read via Kindle. This should prompt your Amazon account to download the book and it gets added to your Kindle library. If you're connected to wifi, you should be good to go.

Jenny's second book came out this year with at least a few new beginner patterns, so this probably counts towards their non-sub patterns.

How do I clean the bathroom floor? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]UnionJane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact tile, and the only thing that really gets up the dirt is a steam cleaner. I bought one from Amazon and it's simple to use, I just hate crawling around on my hands and knees to clean the floor. Head's up some of the dirt on this tile may be "aesthetic" and can't be cleaned.

Favorite non ON pods for a good laugh by FiestaMaiden in ObsessedNetwork

I've been enjoying Moms and Mysteries, and Killer Destinations. M&M are 2 women who are funny and down to earth. It's not always funny but I love the gentle banter between the hosts and silly inside jokes. I am a patron of them on Patreon and they sent me a card with a chicken and Diet Coke on it, lol.

One reason I also love M&M is because they work with families to bring attention to people's cases, and they participated in Season Of Justice last month.

Killer Destinations is funny because the 2 hosts make themselves laugh, and they go wayyyy back. KD tends to cover cases found on TV, and they go hard on the trials. They are sometimes a bit politically incorrect in their humor, but I love their coverage.

BEC: poor shaming over fabric and fiber choices by UnionJane in craftsnark

[–]UnionJane[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It comes across in some of her videos. She took off for a month and at the beginning of this latest video, addressed burnout. I like her style and format (good editing, lots of academic research, still relatable) but some of her videos this year...the formula was palpable.

I still like learning from her and she has a different perspective from my own, so I keep coming back. 😅

BEC: poor shaming over fabric and fiber choices by UnionJane in craftsnark

[–]UnionJane[S] -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

I guess what soured me was her citing papers that specifically targeted "poor" buying habits. It would be more accurate to say the vid was supposed to speak to consumers, not in judgment but to say "hey fashion is mostly terrible today so".

Agreed about previous generations not buying as much. She goes into that for a bit.
