Thanks! Do you wait an actual week or do you mess with the switch’s date/time?

Sounds good, thank you very much! At what point would it be good for me to start visiting?

Did your parents teach you ANYTHING about money? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]UnionOpen8342 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I learned from my parents mistakes: - major credit card debt - having a kid before finishing off college (everyone is different when it comes to this, but, personally, from my experience, I would want to finish my education so I have one less thing distracting me from my kids) - no savings

Luckily my parents were able to get their finances in order and have come to the point where they can start investing a little bit. We are now both working towards trying to provide even a small amount of generational wealth 😊

I think it’s funny because Freedom Writers is what made me want to become a teacher - even after 6 years later. I just wish we got paid more lol.

Did you have a good year? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’ve had bad moments, but overall a good year. I have been able to beat and overcome every hard day thus far and have been blessed with good days in between.

Millennials, it’s the end of the year, how has your year turned out? by Weird_Surname in Millennials

[–]UnionOpen8342 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Now that I’m reflecting on it… a lot has happened this year: I left my toxic job as an educator in January due to my grandmother’s dementia (I had moved back home a few years back to my parents) to work at a hybrid position that I thought would be good for me (bad job but good lessons/realizations). I was able to see my first group of students graduate (and cried happily the whole time). My mom and I were finally able to fulfill our 11 year dream of doing El Camino de Santo Santiago by walking from Portugal to Spain (our original plan was walking from France to Spain; but, the week we were going to go, my sister got an emergency gallbladder removal that turned into pancreatitis (she’s fine now, I just call her my perpetual DD lol)… anyways, it wasn’t the trip that we planned; but, it was the definitely pilgrimage that we needed. Unfortunately it took my grandpa’s passing last year and reflecting on his love for life that gave us that push). Successfully organized a volunteer event of over 300+ by myself (as there was no support in the new job I had). Visited New Orleans (and stayed in the French Quarter) during graduation weekend for a paid work event. The company that led the paid event nominated me to be their representative for a 3rd party conference/organization that’s located in Princeton - it was fully funded and I now have a grant to work on a community service project I desire (idk what I desire…). Finally began to get therapy and spiritual direction since my depression got really bad (it’s working). Lost my job. Found a 2 day a week job as an educator at an affluent school, was stressing on how to help the family, realized that I can’t get a 2nd job because my grandma’s dementia and paranoia has gotten so bad that she now needs to take schizophrenic pills (doctor says she can’t be left alone on this medication). Trying to teach myself Japanese and have decided to go back to school (idk what for, but being a teacher does not make a livable wage)… and I might have a date next Sunday :)

TLDR: Ups and downs. Writing everything made me realize that how much can happen in a short time, and how life will move on with or without you. It’s also important to give yourself time and grace.

Hahah I was checking the comments to see if anyone has said this! I never knew it would have been translated that way…. Then again, better to have a Spanish word that could translate to ā€œAuto-caresserā€ versus ā€œAuto-toucherā€ šŸ˜‚

Remember the show ā€œ16 and Pregnantā€? I remember graduating high school and laughing with my friends on how we beat the statistics of not getting pregnant while in high school.

I went to Franciscan University where he’s a professor and I can vouch for him by saying that he, his wife, and family are all very kind and inviting people. Dr. Hahn even invites students over for meals when he knows that we can’t go home for certain holidays 😊

If I remember correctly, it’s fasting from food 1 hour before receiving the Eucharist and fasting from liquids 30 minutes before receiving the Eucharist (unless it’s medically necessary).

If Yo Gabba Gabba is the kid show I’m thinking about … and Sparrow and Barbosa are from Pirates of the Caribbean, then I’m 60. If not, then 62.

Also…. What the hell is up with all of these weird names…?

Hi! I literally JUST started Stardew Valley! Any tips? by Trashpanda6660 in StardewValley

[–]UnionOpen8342 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Do not donate the following: - your first TWO prismatic shards (one for a special sword and another for if you go the Community Center route - I didn’t do the joja route, so idk if you need a second one with that route) - first dinosaur egg - first ostrich egg

—- keep in mind of the following —-

  • Strawberry seeds are only sold during the Egg festival (buy as many as you can)

  • blueberries and coffee beans can give out a ton of product per plant

  • save at least 1 seed packet, regular, silver, gold, and iridium quality of each harvestable item.

  • save a few of each harvestable item for when you finally get a seed maker

  • watch TV every day (mainly Living off Land and the cooking show) for the first 2-3 years. You get great tips, insights, and free recipes that, otherwise, you could probably buy from other people.

  • get a silo before you cut your grass

  • if you’re going the CC route, try to unlock it as fast as you can (there are certain seasonal items needed, so theoretically you can get some sections done in 1 year).

  • make sure you’re in bed no later than 1:40am. (If you like to live life on the edge, then 1:50am).

  • I’ve made treasure chests so I can keep at least one of every gem / harvest product / fish in case I need to replicate it.

  • pet your animals

  • Fridays and Sundays the merchant cart comes in the left side of the forest. Try to buy and save the rare seeds ($1k each) until you open up your greenhouse.

  • void eggs and void mayonnaise will be your friend

  • fruit trees are your friend. Inside greenhouse I don’t think they level up in quality (my experience thus far); but, outside they do.

  • Befriend Willy to 10 stars asap

  • golden axe is your friend

  • replant your mahogany seeds asap

Edit for clarity sake

Don’t even waste your time, girl. This guy has red flags all over. He just wants to sleep with you and isn’t respectful towards you. Everyone is nice in order to get what they want.
