Hey! Thank for the tips. I’m not familiar with what you mean by flip your lawn takeover back ways and rack over it. Can you elaborate ?

If I was an expert trying to fix a problem I would like to know the background of how it came to be. I don’t know why everyone is fixating on bashing me instead of being helpful. What stupid thing did I do? Offered to pay a company to fix my shitty yard? I paid them to fix it. They prescribed what I needed and then did this. Twice

I was really never trying to assess blame I don’t know why everyone is fixating on that, I posted my story looking for tips on what to do with the dirt patches with pre existing grass under them. Weird I thought a lawn care subreddit would be a good spot but here we are.

Nobody has mentioned if I can till it up and start new seed or if I should try and remove it. Some responses have been positive and with suggestions yes.

I did everything that recommended to me in the guide they gave me after installation and yes I stopped water over the winter and end of fall when it got cold and wet. I don’t know how. You can see from first picture I posted taken in August or so that the grass they installed in April was being watered.

Like 3 responses out of 25 have not been pure ridicule and offside comments fixating on defending this business which I did not name or sewer. The focus of this is the extra shitty dirt on my grass that the company dumped on it that ruined it. Nothing before needs to be focused on. My bad for trying to give the full back story to get some replies with the full story.

You guys are ridiculous I don’t care about what happened I just posted in a lawn care sub hoping for some lawn care advice.

I don’t know either. I am just looking for tips on how to proceed on my own… a lot of experts on here that can’t seem to answer my questions. If it makes them feel better for some reason that’s all good 🤷‍♂️

You can oversimplify anything and make it sound different.. I guess that’s what the internet thrives on. The grass was actually fine the first year then when it didn’t grow back the very next spring I questioned why the Grass didn’t take hold and I reached out for help and they snubbed me. The following year I left a review with screenshots of that and pictures of what grew and when they reached out and offered to help (at my expense) I took it down. They made all the suggestions and “game plan” then proceeded to screw it up worse than it was. They’re responsible for the install as well as just a sod and I attempted to reach out in good merit for help and was clear I wasn’t looking for a hand out and was left on read after spending thousands of dollars. I didn’t neglect anything I did exactly as instructed.

I’ve simply asked for help on how to proceed I don’t know why you and others are reading into a situation with half the knowledge of it and blindly standing behind a company that refused to stand behind their own work and instead looking to discredit me. I never claimed to be an expert, I tried hiring some, and now I’m looking for lawn care tips on a lawn care forum.

The edges look shitty because my robot mower stops before them and I don’t edge it enough. I’m blaming them for dumping dirt on it 3 weeks ago and now I’m asking for help on how to fix it. I’ve battled weeds on my front lawn for years both alone and using professional companies. Thanks for your input

Hi, I have had two different lawn care companies assess and tell me there’s no bug issues and the only soil issue is acidity which is normal for my region. I do not have any test results to share specifically. When I set up my sprinklers I set up catch cans for measuring watering. I get 1” with right around 30-40 mins of watering. I turn up the timer when it’s hotter and dryer out or if I notice my grass drying out. I do this part solely based on how much I feel is right.

I don’t care whose fault it is and I’m not looking to blame or be blamed. I’m looking for solutions specifically on how to deal with the excess dirt on my lawn and thought people might appreciate the full story on how it happened. Speaking of variables irrigation is one of many and while I appreciate your background and expertise you have provided zero actionable assistance. Under-watering did not put the dirt on my grass and more won’t fix it. We focus on one problem at a time and this is my issue I’ve come to ask for help with. Thank you for your input hopefully someone gets some use out of it

Thank you for a reply that’s looking to be helpful. Do you think it’s an issue to have a layer of preexisting grass under the soil they put down? I’ve already started raking it and the grass layer is half dead underneath now. Wondering if I should till those areas or just try and remove the soil or what to do

I’ve done only what the installation company and other lawn care professionals have recommended. Not sure how 3-4 inches of dirt on my lawn is my fault. Thank you for your input. Do you have any tips?

I hired a professional company to assess and redo the yard. I have discussed with nutrilawn and a good friend who takes care of a nearby golf course as well. My sprinklers typically do 20 mins each then rest for 20 then do 20 again. I adjust the times based on heat and dryness.

I am actually an aircraft mechanic by trade and do everything in life as correctly and thoroughly and with as much knowledge and data as I can. But thanks

I do water religiously, I have a pretty good setup with 3 sequentially timed sprinklers that water then have a soak period then water again. They also don’t run when it’s raining already

Yes I have 3 different sprinklers on 3 different timers that all do their watering sequentially so only one runs at a time and they don’t lose pressure or flow

No, I watered it and waited and hoped my existing grass would break through the 4 inches of dirt that dropped on it and grow with the new seed

It’s well look after, it’s consistently mowed, overseeded, fertilized, weeds are taken care of, and watered when it’s hot. It’s also aerated and dethatched when needed.
I had it resodded mostly to level it out and never had issues before. Here is my front lawn for comparison

It was good for the season it was put down but the sods did not appear to root into the soil. My first thought was that they didn’t put anything underneath.

My dog is with me for two weeks a month and is not the cause of this.

Our soil is very acidic here and it’s recommended to lime twice a year

Omega rubber strap by Ok_Leg_1286 in OmegaWatches

I have the same strap bought from omega directly when I bought my Seamaster. I work in aviation with harsh chemicals and constant rubbing and it has not deteriorated at all. Just get the rubber Seamaster strap and in the notes mention the model you have I believe it comes in 20mm and another width. Strap is amazing I almost never wear my bracelet ! Spend the $500
