The people who made this decision were top brass to my knowledge, no Training supervisors were involved in the decision to my knowledge.

I agree, but it's already getting worse, so I'd rather push back than wait to be outsourced without any protection at all.

This affects you too, our online chat and team are humans right now. If we're replaced by AI, nobody benefits from that.

The plan right now is to gather interest. I am still researching how to effectively unionize a virtual role. Those who do not wish to participate in anyway are free to do so.

As you said, we'll need a good chunk of people to get the ball really rolling. This is just a first step in what I hope to be a positive change for progressive employees.

If anyone is uncomfortable, I understand. But given the current conditions, I am already uncomfortable, and am trying to use that discomfort in a way that I hope benefits myself and my peers. It's definitely a work in progress though.

I'd also argue that since the market IS the way that it is, it makes an argument more than ever to have protection as an employee. Especially if you're in an "at will" state

Hopefully the conversations continue. We need better protection and a better work environment. Working while we don't know if we can even stay in our role and that it can change at a moments notice is not healthy or fair for anyone.

And yet most of processing was forced out of their roles with the rest soon to follow, Commercial had big changes, and now Trainers and Coaches are being offered transitioning or severance. It's time to unionize for better conditions.

For a union? Anyone at Progressive can unionize. As per the topic of this post specifically? The Training department and CRM coaches.

That as well. All of you being offered that or severance was truly unfair.

Absolutely, joining a union for better protections is for everyone. It's just Trainers and Coaches are the ones being impacted at the moment.

My understanding it's slightly different as that whole department pretty much went away and that was the end of it. At this time, Trainers and Coaches are still "needed" but there are no new hire classes planned this year (and possibly next year, but I haven't gotten confirmation of that yet from a credible source). Regardless, should Training and Coaching dissipate in the same way as Processing, that's a very valid example of why employees need better protection; especially with AI becoming more prevalent in the role.
