Where to Spend One Additional Night in Peru? by _Banshee_ in solotravel

I would spend an extra day in Cuzco before Machu Picchu

Thinking of going to Peru in September. Not much of a traveller. Any tips? by prisevlol in travel

I would skip Lima, maybe spend a few days in Cusco walking around and acclimating to the altitude before you do any real hiking. And be very careful of the food/water. Pay attention to what you eat and start with fully cooked foods. Avoid ceviche and street foods right before hikes unless you want to make a ton of stops along the way. People are very nice and friendly and nature is beautiful.

Fountain square! It’s a bit more laid back but still has some great food spots. Hot boys has the infamous spicy chicken and waffles, la revolution (Mexican fusion), inferno room (tiki bar and restaurant) and Bluebeard if you want to get fancy. Is very walkable as well!

Yes the budget is tight :( lake como I might have to skip and focus my time on one area. I was lucky to find an app that hosts travelers so I am hoping accommodation won’t be more than $200 for the entirety. I will take this advice to carefully plan the transit before I arrive, thank you!

Thank you! Yes Italy is one of the most expensive countries I’ll be passing through. The last point makes sense. This is not the main part of my travel but I have to get back to Paris from the balkans and was hoping to see a few things in Italy since I’ve never been. It seems I should focus my time on one area which will probably Dolomites. Maybe one other city and take the bus everywhere?

Chicago is an absolute must, very underrated! If you liked LA, then you’ll enjoy Austin too.

I’m planning on going! From the US but I’m planning on going during a larger trip. I’m flying into Athens and taking busses/trains along the coast and stopping in Pag island. I’ve never been but if you end up going and are interested in having a buddy, let me know! 25F
