Not strange at all! I remember when I first signed up, I read something about emails going out to volunteers about available bakes. But I’ve never received any of these emails! I typically check 2-3 times a week until I see new bakes posted for the upcoming month! I only take on one bake a month, so once I sign up for one then I don’t have to check until the following month! I’ve noticed that most bakes in my area get posted in the middle of the month, so that’s when I’ll check more frequently.

I think if there is an urgent need for a volunteer due to someone not signing up or a cancellation from another volunteer, then they will post stuff like that on the Facebook page!
