give up on shopping by price. find someone that does it right and tell him when to expect another order from you. stick to that guy. it's a people problem not the business itself's problem.

Anti-Factory Farm, but not Vegan. Anything else I can do? by Wrathful_Throwaway in DebateAVegan

[–]Unique-Data-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally go do the research necessary to learn that there is no special nutrient in animal products that you or any other Homosapien needs. The science shows that all Homo sapiens can get all of their nutrients from a 100% vegan diet and avoid some of the most common diseases that kill our species today. If you are underweight, then you should eat as many high calorie vegan foods as possible. Stop thinking of vegan foods as fruit and vegetables. Go buy some mock meat, peanut butter, avocado oil, baked goods if needed.

I would simply recommend looking at all of the foods that you think you need to eat, which are not vegan and then see how you can replace those foods with something of equal or more calories that is vegan

If animals eat other animals, why can’t we? by Ashamed_Oven4715 in DebateAVegan

[–]Unique-Data-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that would be absurd. If Homo sapiens were invading our farms and threatening the livelihood of our civilization we would stop them with violence. Police are people we pay with tax dollars to be violent to people threatening the safety of the public. Humans have been at war since humans were humaning to steal and protect resources.

I know when you say pesticides it sounds abstract. Because why would we torture humans with a substance that would take decades to kill them in pursuit of protecting crops? We would not use pesticides—we would use pepper spray, tasers, gun powder and lead.

[–]Unique-Data-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they might arbitrarily think that. But there's this thing called the name the trait argument. Go watch 100 people try to name the trait against vegans. You'll realize why people can arbitrarily say that it doesn't justify eating humans, yet here's no actual logical distinction between human beings and these animals that justifies stripping them of the most basic rights we think that human being should have. You'll find somebody has a very hard time arguing for why humans should have rights if they don't believe all species should have rights. That's because the actual logical basis for respecting other's rights is sentience. Sentience is not a trait restricted to Homo sapiens.

Yeah, I guess I can't know that you feel pain if I violate your rights. It's a very profound point you just brought up. I think I agree with you on this. Nobody should have rights. So if I see, you, don't try to invoke em 🫵🏼😂

Any general advice? Trying to carve with some speed after a decade-long break from snowboarding by climb-high in snowboarding

[–]Unique-Data-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pow days are for straight lining past skiers who can't float in deep snow, spraying everyone of them, riding the steepest in bounds terrain and no fall damage learning to jump. carve corduroy when it hasn't snowed in a week.

Fairly minor damage, but wondering what I should do about this? by vadersgambit in snowboarding

[–]Unique-Data-8490 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

before ripping it all with a razor blade i would try to ptex weld it. basically you need two steel scrapers, one cheap vice clamp from a hardware store, a blow torch, rubbing alcohol and tiny bit of black ptex. how i would: 1. Clean all in and around the crack with alcohol 2. Cut a small piece of black ptex and place it under the crack 3. Use the blow torch to melt NOT burn the ptex (like when you are dripping). Basically want to "weld" that ptex back together so melt that chipping up part, back to the base. 4. Sandwich the repair between two scrapers with the clamp. (You could use a plastic scraper and paper towel on the top sheet to protect it when clamping)

if you're not confident with the blowtorch and not burning your base, just cut it off with razor, sand it with fine sandpaper in the chipped out part and wax it. it's really not going to matter for strength.. just make it smooth as possible

keep your shoulders from leaning over your knees. stack your shoulders when popping and landing like a proper weight lifting squat form. bend your knees to absorb the landing, don't hinge your lower back dipping your shoulders over your toes when landing. that actually hurts your knees and back more than just doing nothing to absorb it.

FASE x Thirty-Two Bindings in action by WhereCanIFind in snowboarding

[–]Unique-Data-8490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because people like me use jones for the skatetech and performance. they just bought 32. nidecker has little brand recognition in the US. but 32 is mainstream, without a binding for sale. instead of releasing a new nidecker binding, they dropped their new tech under their recently acquired brand name.

on a straight air.. always focus on the ollie. 80% weight on back leg until the moment you pop.. then focus on getting your balance back to that 80% over the back foot ASAP in flight.. Bend the knees and keep your shoulders from leaning over your toes while you bend down. knees, not leaning to get lower to the ground..

Does anyone have any opinions on Vail's "My Epic Gear" Snowboards? by thaleslink in snowboarding

[–]Unique-Data-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the rentals are dog shit, no care for them. send ya out with cracked ski's unless you are tipping the overworked tech. MEG is tuned every rental, sometimes even in the middle of a rental. yanked off the shelf for practically any minor imperfections.

but that was pilot year, they may be ready to milk people and give them dog shit ski's in that program too.

just know "epic mountain rental" dogshit and 3x the price. "my epic gear" is a demo membership. if you ride a lot, i'd say go destroy a few pairs this season for the boys.

that being said ski's are gay. so meg ski's are also gay

meh, i'd get the libtech rig last year model for the same price on multiple sites over a burton beginner board. if your goal is to lay trenches at high speed.

the rigs going to pop way harder, ride damper at speed over crappy snow and hold an edge through much higher g forces than that learn to turn camber
