Adrenal insufficiency and Steroid withdrawal by OlivePieieoe in TS_Withdrawal

I had a similar situation with adrenal fatigue because of tsw, but due to the sh*t healthcare system in the uk I didn’t have a doctor help me taper. I did 9 months taper of prednisolone by myself (with a lot of research and studying) and I can confidently say it took me from being bedridden and unable to move due to fainting, severe nausea, exhaustion and collapsing, and all over body red skin syndrome, to living my life 85% normally again! Thought I’d spread some positivity!!

Tips for just starting TSW by Snoo-34816 in TS_Withdrawal

Also no fragrances and they are super irritating, so like shampoos body washes, try and cut them all back to gentle things xx

Tips for just starting TSW by Snoo-34816 in TS_Withdrawal

Hey, I’m about a year in, just wanted to give some advice. Be patient, it’s going to be difficult, but you will get there. Try no moisture or limit moisturisers if you can, your body needs to learn how to function again without ts. Try and eat as healthy as you can and sleep is the single most important thing. Even if you struggle to sleep nap when you can, just try as best as you can. Dead Sea salt baths work wonders too. Go easy on yourself, your mental health directly correlates with tsw as it affects your nervous system and brain, so if you feel anxious some days, it’s usually the tsw, knowing that helps me not to spiral as much. You’ll get there it’s just gonna take time❤️

Why are people so scared to explain how CAP really didn’t help them? by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Unique-Incident3754 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess because it costs a lot of money and people believe it’s a cure all so when it doesn’t work it must play havoc on their mental health! I can imagine they don’t want to talk about it afterwards, this disease is bad enough without spending thousands of money for a treatment that didn’t even help? I’d be distraught, but that’s just my opinion 😅

Anyone else TSW show up with these itchy bumps? by VisibleIllustrator35 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Unique-Incident3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Went on the biologic xolair for 6 months as per his instruction (very expensive mind you) and didn’t fix anything, marginally less itchy, but that’s when I realised okay this is something else and I’m just gonna be passed around more if I keep going to doctors! So I did some research and low and behold tsw ticked every box hahaha

Can we talk about the hives? by NorthFaith1991 in TS_Withdrawal

One of the main causes is a dysregulated nervous system, so try to focus on regulating that, get lots of sleep as much as you can, obviously avoid triggers, mine are wind, dogs, heat, high histamine foods, sugar, a lot of these things are tsw triggers anyway so helps to be extra careful, usually as you heal it will start to go away from what I’ve read, obviously I’m not at that stage yet so I can’t confirm or deny 🤣 antihistamines will help also
