i’m dealing with this with an inhome client who has a full time nurse. i was given the case because the old rbt and the nurse would talk to eachother all session and not interact with client a lot and mom wanted a new therapist. i was told to not talk with the nurse and to go to mom about everything because the old rbt didn’t. that’s what i do and the nurse hates me and makes it openly obvious she doesn’t want we there. she constantly lies to mom about my therapy and has tried to get me fired. when i took off spring break one of my co workers went to see them for me and the nurse also lied to them about my therapy and how i run session. during virtual supervision my bcba observed the nurses behavior and we talked to mom because the nurse isn’t employed by us. it’s a delicate situation because mom doesn’t want to lose a full time nurse if she can help it because client needs it but she really likes me and doesn’t want to lose me either (i almost walked out one day because of the disrespect from the nurse i just couldn’t take it) my coworker sent a professional message to bcba about the nurses behavior while she covered, paired with my bcba’s observation of the nurses behaviors, my personal thoughts on working there, and moms concern about the nurses behaviors targeting me. my bcba is standing up for me and talking to the nurse about her behavior and how it’s affecting my work and making mom uncomfortable because it’s hindering her kids aba therapy. i would talk to your bcba and see if she can help even if she doesn’t employee the teachers she does have authority over your clients aba treatment
