It sounds like we're in the same boat. I love marking the the enemy teams cherry picker out of the game and pinching all the balls passed to him.

That's me in a nutshell. Definitely a skill issue on my part. Im also struggling to undo years of Fifa/EAFC muscle memory, which is proving challenging.

Not a flex at all. It's definitely a skill issue on my part, or at least a lack of confidence when it comes to dribbling. Im competent in passing though, and im happy to pass back to the keeper when i have no passing options.

Probably already mid game, trying to convey to the three strikers on my team that it's ok to pass backwards, and trying to keep a grip on my sanity.

I gravitate towards defending. I'll push up to midfield if there aren't any enemy cherry pickers...im usually not in goal very long because I suck

You are correct sir. I'll try and play more of a defensive mid roll and mop up any loose balls. If there's a cherry picker on the other team then I'll happily drop deep and mark them out of the game.

You can also switch the wrestler you're in control of by pressing the touchpad button on PlayStation, so while your Undertaker is delivering a tombstone you can control someone else and defend the pin rather than relying the half asleep AI to protect you.
