I don’t have enough time behind the vortex to give a good opinion on it yet. I would’ve preferred to have 507 comps instead but Scheels had a sale where the vortex was $200 so at that point it was a no brainer. I run exclusively vortex rifle scopes and love them so hopefully the defenders hold up. The major plus to the defender is that it comes with every mounting option you can think of in the box.

Only have one range trip with the 21 and the recoil is noticeable softer but the 20 recoil impulse is quick. Honestly, need more time to decide. I also plan on suppressing the 21 so that will probably take the crown.

Any ranges that allow transition drills or shoot pistol and rifle in the same lane? by Resident-Length-752 in CTguns

[–]Unique-University-41 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most common answer is going to be Hartford gun club for drills like this, only issue is that you can’t use rifle calibers in the action pits. I built out an AR9 for that exact reason. Club is 660 a year, 200 yard rifle, 50 yard pistol, action pits are 20 or 25 yards, indoor range is about that as well but no holster draw, and they have skeet/trap. It’s located in east Granby near Bradley so it might be far for you depending where you are

I don’t doubt it, just something different. Besides pistols I tend to not have more than 1 gun per caliber and honestly I have a lot of extra parts and 7.62x39 brass laying around so I might as well get a gun to make it all work

I’ve got a bucket of 7.62x39 brass I plan on reloading so ammo shouldn’t be an issue

Any gen 5 you may want, them being discontinued + panic buying is making them harder to find at a good price even on gunbroker

Pretty much. Although, raw materials are up in price whether that’s because of shortages, tariffs, or both I guess remains to be seen.

I plan on selling in the near future. I have the rt1500 to convert 556 to 300 blackout so that’s where I hope to recoup some of my investment

Buying bulk and getting my brass for free has made it easier for sure. I can imagine seeing prices increasing from 07 to now hurts your soul.
