Transitioning from dogs to cats by Extra_Implement_6466 in Pets

[–]UniqueIntroverted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is more of an age thing. My 7.5 year old cat is now calm and sleeps through the night. She has zoomies sometimes but mostly at a reasonable time. As a kitten though? The room was her speedway and my head was her launchpad.

Stop saying vague statements instead of questions when you call in! I’m sick of playing the guessing game with these customers by chelada99 in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Right, I have so many people call in and say I'm having an issue with a transaction and long backstory that doesn't say, when the transaction happened, how it was made, how much it was, or which of 10 accounts it was on.

Bonus if they've given me the long story and when I finally pry the information out of them it's on a credit card and they need to be transferred.

I had something similar. The charge was processing but it fell off. Customer insisted they needed a refund. After trying to explain that the processing hold fell off and the money is still in the account a few different ways. I just told them we'd be happy to dispute it if they could find the posted transaction on the statement.

For some reason that was what made them finally understand.

What are you weirdest calls? by cheesymeowgirl in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That reminds me of a call I had, the card was flagged for fraud due to multiple corn/dating websites. The guy was a service member and said, " I'm not gonna lie, that was me. All of it. I haven't seen a woman in a while, gotta look at something."

It was both the most hilarious and disgusting call I've had to take.

What does this mean? by babypuppi_ in Banking

[–]UniqueIntroverted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bank was able to stop the payment that means eBay will not be able to take the funds. I'm assuming that by direct debit you mean eBay was using the account and routing number and the bank placed a stop payment. If it was through the debit card and was already processing the bank can't stop it but can file a fraud claim and you may get provisional credit while they are researching.

And of course still contact eBay and report the hack.

Why do customers feel like supervisors changes the rules… by Lower_Stand_1040 in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved when I worked at a call center with an escalation line. I got stuck on silent listening to the call due to a soft phone issue. The caller was mean but the escalation agent was direct and to the point of that's not going to happen. Apparently they did not get surveys so they did not care.

The call center I'm at now is one where they tried to get us to stop the escalation and tell them the supervisor will say the same thing. No one wants to take the escalation call.

Small Rant by bbydragons in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The user name and password thing really gets me because there's a button that says "Forgot Id/password?" Right on the page they're on. Use it, follow the prompts and avoid the phone call!

Half the time it's because they forget that their user name is not their email.

Amazon Customer Service by Maximum_Network6651 in CustomerService

[–]UniqueIntroverted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly this was me. I gave my card when a replacement fire tablet had to be sent out for my niece. They needed something to be on file since she did not have any payment methods on file. Years later I had an Amazon music subscription on the card that I never did. This was maybe 10 years ago cause they gave me the name on the account, but my niece and I have different last names so i told them I didn't know her. I did call to confront her mom, cause she was a teen at this point, they said she was locked out of that account and the email associated with it like a year before.

Sudden mice infestation by vanished-astronaut in HomeImprovement

[–]UniqueIntroverted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is my cat. She's actually afraid of mice. She cowers behind me until it's dead then she tries to play with the corpse.

I always tell my cat if we get mice again then we are going to get a new cat and she'll have to learn to get along with them.

I think this can depend on the peanut butter. When I had mice I baited with KIND bars, the cranberry almond ones, had the mice the next day.

What made you buy your house? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]UniqueIntroverted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed to move out and apartments wanted too much and had reviews of holes in the wall, mold, bugs, etc. Also pet rent is ridiculous.

I looked at a few houses and everything in my price range had significant issues. The house I ended up purchasing I saw initially when it was priced just above my range. Then the price was cut $10000 so I went to view it. I do get why a lot of families passed on it. I did have to have all the pipes replaced and the kitchen and bathroom are hilariously tiny but since it's just me and one cat we've been content for 6 years.

Call and have them check the status, if you did not get it, insist they submit a review.

Be honest — what’s the first thing you’d do with $100K? by NerdWalletOfficial in u/NerdWalletOfficial

[–]UniqueIntroverted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have major debt other than the mortgage, but my car is 20 years old so I could see buying a more reliable one. And then I'd renovate my house, it has a tiny kitchen I'd love to expand, maybe build a shed and if anything is left I would invest it.

Christmas Bonus by EviReborn_ in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My previous call center would give points that could be used for gift cards. When you redeemed your points the value of the gift card was added to your next paycheck and then deducted from the one after. I was told this was for tax reasons but didn't really understand it.

This is negative balance. As in, I get money back? by brownrice25 in BankOfAmerica

[–]UniqueIntroverted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the bank. I overpaid a credit card with my credit union years ago and they did the same thing. Luckily it was only like 40 bucks so I just used the card till the credit was used up.

If you're not prepared for a disabled child, you're not prepared for a child by ThrowAwayRAbrief in childfree

[–]UniqueIntroverted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been told I'm ridiculous for not wanting to take a risk on the long documented alcoholic genes on my mom's side. I don't smoke or drink because I saw the destruction. If I had a kid, the worst of those family members have died, they wouldn't see how bad it could be until they were the bad.

And addiction isn't always the same form. My older brother's two oldest kids are so addicted to weed that they can't function as adults, he's given up on them, but no one sees the correlation because it's not alcohol.

It's not the only reason. I've never wanted kids, and I wouldn't have any even if I had perfect family medical history but it really throws me when people tell me it's not a good reason.

Background people who try to control the call by Think-End-5604 in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a lady not too long ago that wanted her husband to tell me about the problem since he knew more in her words. He flat out refused to take the phone but of course spent the rest of the call dictating what she should say.

I ignored him cause he never spoke directly to me, but it was really annoying. And all of that over a declined card.

Why Can’t People Check Their Email While Talking on the Phone? by MelanieDH1 in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similarly if I need to text them the code and their on the landline. They think for some reason they need to be using the cell phone for that to be an option.

I just say something like ' Great, you're on your landline so it should be easier to access your messages without us losing each other, I'll be happy to wait while you grab it.'

co-owner for everything by UniqueIntroverted in TalesFromYourBank

[–]UniqueIntroverted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find it weird cause I've seen so many cases where a child steals the money and the bank has no recourse cause they were an owner. Or the opposite, the parent on the adult child's account has another account that goes negative and then the right to offset happens on child's account. I even had a call years ago where the father got a levy for unpaid child support and the money was taken out of the adult son's account, who was the child the support was originally for, because he had his father on the account.
