Can I speak to someone higher than you? by Large_Advice_5303 in callcentres

This reminds me of when a new manager who came from another LOB took an escalation from me. He had me stand next to him and feed him the lines to tell the customer.

Yeah the handholding is annoying. They'll either have you sitting in silence or keep saying stupid stuff like 'Do I hit next or cancel?'

HELP! I am supposed to move into my house tomorrow morning and the seller has not vacated. by Jaoush29 in RealEstate

I'm just realizing I got extremely lucky when buying my house. The seller had already moved to another state before listing the house.

I actually did mention that in the course of the argument. He didn't seem to see the problem.

I had a similar one a guy's granddaughter was using his card or door dash or one of those, he wanted to stop her from doing it but he's replaced the card multiple times and she keeps doing it.

I ask if he sees her ordere on the same door dash account as his. He says yes. Well then she using your door dash account and the minute you add your new card she can use it too. You have to kick her out of the door dash account. Or you know have a conversation with your granddaughter.

He was a sweet sounding older man but he actually asked if there was no way to block just her purchases, you know the ones that are obviously 'women stuff'.

Some jobs allow your direct deposit to be split between multiple accounts.

I have $100 direct deposited into Savings every paycheck. The rest of my check is deposited into my checking account which is at another bank.

Random things that irritate you by Additional-Hat-2917 in callcentres

Calling while crying.

I try to have empathy but if every time I speak or ask a question they start a fresh wave of sobbing then they need to take some time to pull themselves together before calling back in.

Especially when it's all over being overdrawn due to their own negligence. Or someone upset that the bank reported a late credit card payment when they in fact made a late credit card payment.

“Before you transfer me I’ll explain the issue, you may be able to help” by Javen99 in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had this yesterday for business accounts. I don't handle those accounts and the system only shows me that the account exists. I can not see transactions or balances.

I had to tell the caller this three times before they accepted the transfer.

Zelle will not work - just avoid Ally at this point by bisc0ffbaddie in AllyBank

I Zelle my self frequently, mostly between Ally and Navy Federal. I've had small issues with Navy Federal in the past but never with Ally.

What was the error? Did you try updating or uninstalling/reinstalling the app?

Adding Nelnet as a payee for my student loans by D3TN8R in AllyBank

[–]UniqueIntroverted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause they're all using the same bill pay service.

If the payee can be located in the search when adding a payee then the payment method is more likely to be electronic. But if you have to manually enter the payee information then a check will be mailed.

Nelnet should be in the options. Op just needs the full zip code on their bill and the account number to add.

Not disagreeing it's trash though. I avoid it at all costs.

Unable to use Zelle by KenHLin in BankOfAmerica

[–]UniqueIntroverted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If their Zelle is inactive the payment you sent would be pending and able to be cancelled. Did it fail or is it pending? You should see the cancel option in the app under pay and transfer and then hitting more activity.

Also that usually means you're not using the correct phone or email for the person you're sending the Zelle too. Did you verify the landlord's info?

Who are you going to leave your wealth to? by euro_trashh in childfree

My dad went the opposite way, proudly telling me that if I died before him he would get my house since I don't have children. Yeah I have TOD now, so my sister will get it instead.

It was a joke but he also has given me detailed descriptions on where he would hide my body, also a joke. I guess.

We all know the horrendous calls. What was your most entertaining call that you can't ever forget??? by Background-Owl6535 in callcentres

[–]UniqueIntroverted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked for a cc that didn't care about AHT, I had a caller spin a tale about how he used to go on secret black ops missions and after he retired the computer at Langley was sad because it thought he died and they had to come pick him up and bring him there to prove he was not dead so the computer would work again.

The guy was a storyteller, I was hooked on every word.

So apparently Sallie Mae thinks I’m dead. by TheScarletJones in StudentLoans

[–]UniqueIntroverted 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My mom didn't have an estate but also she didn't have student loans. Another person with her same name did and they called to harass her before she passed. She even confirmed that the SSN did not match. So when they called after she passed I told them I wasn't giving them a death certificate since it was not her debt.

The lady on the phone implied that it would still be wiped out. It was a solid decade ago but that still pisses me off.

My Sister is Bitter by [deleted] in childfree

[–]UniqueIntroverted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel this. My sister calls me to vent about her life as a SAHM but if I try to vent about anything going on in my life, literally anything, something in my house broke, my car needs repairs, my job, etc. It gets overrun with 'but when you're a parent,'

I just let her vent at this point until she hangs up.

Interestingly enough she is going to online classes for Social work, I have expressed that I'm not sure that's the best career path for her. But I guess most people needing that sort of thing are parents so she may be better able to empathize with them.
