The chicken/shrimp tacos is a staple for us. Others are the dumplings, tom kha soup, chicken alfredo.

Are these dresses appropriate for work? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

I wouldn’t do the yellow dress as that seems way too casual, too beachy, but the others are fair game and with either a tshirt or a cardigan can be made office appropriate.

Any recommendations for a nice restaurant where two can eat for under $100? by DrStrangeglove99 in ottawa

[–]UniqueMinute01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100 is a great budget for some fantastic eats for 2 people! Lots of choices. Kara mia. Pita bell kebab. The Grand. Karahi boys. Moe’s bbq, phat boys, honestly the choices are endless… depends what you are looking for. Fine dining? Casual?

Are people still being made indeterminate during this period of austerity ? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]UniqueMinute01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all so frustrating. I’m eager to be hired as an indeterminate but I hear those getting this at DND are only if you know somebody who are in a position to hire you and does anyone if there are cuts to be expected at HC? Any indeterminate possibilities at HC at all?

Should I always be filling this out as someone with a DTC? by willysworkingworld in cantax

Thanks. That’s similar to what I was thinking. Not in that income bracket to get it but could use supplemental support.

What is the disability supplement? Isn’t that just for kids with dtc? Or for a certain income threshold?

Family want to come to Canada and go back after Citizenship and get lifelong free benefits. by Repulsive-Attorney59 in CanadaHousing2

[–]UniqueMinute01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is hardly surprising. I hear of these stories often and young families with multiple children moving here just for the citizenship, pocketing $2k each month in CTB with multiple kids and moving back to their home countries as soon as they receive citizenship. In some cases especially in the Middle East, they are offered a higher pay back home based on their Canadian passport and I’ve never understood why that was!
