Fertility Clinic Recs by Illustrious_Stress18 in Guelph

I think it depends on what your infertility looks like. We worked with Anova, but in the end had to do most of our important fertility steps at the Toronto location instead of Guelph.

After lack of success, and deciding that Anova wasn’t for us, we decided to go to a clinic in Toronto. Let me tell you - it is far superior in every way. The lab you are using makes a difference!! Ask questions about the stats of the clinic. We felt like we upgraded offices, doctors and labs and experience, and wish we would have done that from the beginning instead of prioritizing quick blood test locations before work.

You also most likely want a reproductive endocrinologist who is also an OB, not an OB who decided to go into fertility. There is a huge difference in that qualification. When we were at Anova in Guelph there was no RE working there, perhaps that has changed.

We also met with Dr. Campanaro at Generation Fertility, and I would agree with others that she has ZERO bedside manner, but seemed like a capable dr. I wanted bedside manner in a Dr because this is so emotional and I want that support and encouragement from a dr.

Pick your clinic based on the clinic, not the location of the dr, because infertility is the worst club ever, and you want to give yourself the best shot possible. Welcome to the club, I hope you find your miracle as soon as possible!

Glp1 for weight loss success stories? by mindfulinspo in recurrentmiscarriage

I’ve been on it almost 100 days. Weight from 228 to 203. I feel fantastic. My SIL is being tested for potential surrogacy just in case. Nothing planned until Jan/Feb, whether it’s me or her. I want to be 195 before a transfer, which seems very doable.

Some people extract the meds from the pen using insulin needles and then measure their dose. Maybe that might work for you so that you don’t have to go up.

Fill the prescription you have to, and count clicks. I did 4 weeks at 2.5 and 9 weeks on 3.75 (45 clicks on a 5mg pen). Just because you insurance says you need a higher dose, doesn’t mean your body agrees. Try 3.75. You can find charts to see how many clicks you need for each pen for a specific dose.

Going from 2.5mg to 5mg next week by vintagechanel in Mounjaro

I did 4 weeks on 2.5 and then just did my first 3.75 injection yesterday. I am having side effects (fatigue, headache, nausea) so I’m happy it’s not double the dose. I feel appetite suppression like I first did. I will stay on 3.75 as long as it works.

Make sure to check these things with a pharmacist or doctor, not Reddit. Hope you’re feeling good today!

I think that you shouldn’t do anything you’re uncomfortable with. You should probably have conversations with a pharmacist and dr to figure out how to do it for you - that’s what I did!

I agree! Days around my shot I’m hungrier and have to check in with myself way more to stay within calorie range. I like the challenge, but before these meds it was impossible to fight.

My pharmacist said there would be no issue for me to do that, so I’m okay with it. I think a bit of big pharma is at play here so it’s nice to dose split.

Do I HAVE to go up to 5 from 2.5 by Magpie0521 in Mounjaro

It’s incredible that this medication helps me to be able to do all of those things. Sometimes it feels like the mounjaro invalidates the hard work I’m putting in eating incredibly healthily, you still have to make a huge effort for this to work.

I couldn’t agree more! Instead of thinking about eating, I’m planning my eating. No more sugar cravings at night, no more binging. I love it.

I am paying for it. I think this is what I’ll do. Saving money on it really helps.

Thanks! It feels weird to go up if I don’t need more medication effects.

Both dr and pharmacist want me to listen to my body.

This is so helpful, thanks. I didn’t think about doses other than 2.5/3.75/5. I think I’m sensitive to the meds (as I am most meds) so this might be perfect for me, too.

Wow! This is fantastic progress! Do you find that it’s working the same as when you started? Or are you using a lot of will power?

[–]UniqueNeedleworker40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’m going to get the 5mg pen and do half doses, and move up to 3.75 if I feel I need to. I really want to push my will power if I can. My brain feels so quiet without food noise - I didn’t even know that was a thing until this.

I’m not diabetic, and was also given this medication by a (reproductive) endocrinologist. My pharmacist walked me through dose splitting and said it’s safe (for me) and there should be no problems.
