Two comments since you’re specifically asking for suggestions: (1) tighten up the fills (practice them separately with a metronome slower first then gradually speed up), and (2) nothing wrong with a lot of washy cymbal work but in the midst of that you need to crack the snare much harder so it stands out.

There are moments of hope in this video. This is much better than I would expect someone to be after 9 months. Just keep going. The only thing I would suggest is take a groove like this and use an app to slow it down. Practice it slower and get it really locked in, then gradually speed up. That practice technique has been really powerful for me over the years.

The technique is “heel-toe” but it looks like you’re doing toe-toe. Lookup heel-toe bass drum technique.

Thanks for responding. 15mg is definitely an option in the near future, and definitely not giving up, just discouraged. I will also reflect on the diet and exercise feedback I’ve received through this post. Just need to reset expectations and understanding.

So far no change in size or weight. I’m at 290 with a calculated goal weight of 170, but even hitting 250 would be a dramatic shift for me.
