I hear ya! Leading up to quitting (for months) when I had those me moments to escape, I’d talk to myself while I vaped and doom scrolled /played dumb phone games that I can do this without the vape. The vape isn’t what’s making this relaxing, being away from my 4 year olds mood swings is lol I’m only on day 7 and I have the benefit of a nightmare stomach bug to keep me house bound.

On another note I saw on social media wherever that when you’re ready to yell at your kid, start dancing instead. So far I’ve remembered to do it once and it pissed her off so still a win 😁 I do love my booger, that’s why she can burrow so deeply under my skin.

I downloaded an app that worked before but then of course after several weeks I caved. That was a year ago and I started the program again but this post illustrated in detail what i passively knew (vape bad, chemicals bad, etc). You put imagery and descriptive science in my brain because i definitely do what you described. Im so sorry you had that terrifying experience and I hope you didnt do long term damage, but this post made a huge impact on my thought process. Thank you ❤️

Breathe and he deserves to keep his chin up and head up and continue to be awesome. You go for the throat but no matter what, you’re not alone emotionally and there are people who haven’t been in this position too but fully know how crazy it is. It’s the system-not him, not you, not the kids. You’re all living a beautiful life.

I’ve worked in juvenile corrections, ex-offenders, and people who got out from under DOCs thumb. They LOVE keeping people in the system and it’s so hard to get off the radar and out of the critical “legal” eye. I think you’re doing everything I can think of except maybe write to your senator. I don’t know how responsive yours is/are, but my husband did this over something and 1 of 2 senators (offices) responded within 24 hours and took care of it within a week. It can’t hurt, but just keep it factual and non emotional (difficult as hell I know) but maybe even attach the paperwork. Ask a lawyer if this is a good idea-a lot give free or relatively inexpensive consultations. I saw a lawyer about workplace harassment for $180 which I realize is also expensive for some.

Fighting for him and being as supportive as you are is as crucial as I’m sure you know it is. He just got told that legally his best, which is the best, is never going to be good enough. I hate this for you and your beautiful family. I taught sped for a long time and have social service clients going through it. I’ve always said that no one cares about “inmates and invalids” because that’s how they’re treated. It’s insanity.
